Job Description

Delta Dental is seeking a Technical Product Owner within its Platform Engineering organization. This role translates business needs into actionable work for delivery teams, centering on platform services, APIs, cloud platforms, and developer enablement to deliver measurable business value. The position is based in Alpharetta, Georgia with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery of designated product features and technology outcomes from planning through implementation for platform services, APIs, cloud platforms, developer enablement solutions, and shared engineering capabilities.
  • Manage day-to-day requirements, backlog items, projects, and special features in partnership with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Application Development, Platform Engineering, Security, Technology, Finance, Legal, and business teams to define and deliver solutions.
  • Utilize knowledge of application integration, platform capabilities, and technical development to shape requirements, priorities, and delivery choices.
  • Translate customer needs, business goals, technical inputs, analytics, and market insights into clear product requirements and executable roadmaps.
  • Lead feature and dependency prioritization, PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement at the team level.
  • Set iteration goals and verify that outcomes satisfy functional, non-functional, and technical expectations.
  • Coordinate daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, retrospectives, and system demos with delivery teams.
  • Create, refine, and prioritize user stories and tasks that meet user needs, maintain technical integrity, and align with definition of ready standards.
  • Ensure product artifacts are complete and stories or features meet definition of done criteria.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and delivery blockers, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Use product and delivery metrics to measure success, inform decisions, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of product management experience supporting software engineering, platform engineering, cloud platforms, APIs, developer platforms, infrastructure, or enterprise technology products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and driving business growth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and a solid understanding of software development lifecycles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and techniques, focusing on efficient resource allocation.
  • Strong business acumen and a customer-centric mindset, with awareness of market trends and user needs.
  • Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Base Pay Information

The base salary range for this role is USD 81,265.00 to 176,073.00 per year. Pay is determined by Pay Grade 21 on a national scale, and actual compensation may vary based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet minimum qualifications. Other factors that may influence pay include location-based wages and internal equity.
