Job Description

Based in New York, NY with hybrid work arrangements, this entry-level Associate role in Digital Product Operations at American Express supports the adoption and ongoing operation of Hyperdrive, the enterprise platform for real-time data processing. The position collaborates with Product, Engineering, and internal teams to onboard customers and contribute to the platform's evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the adoption and ongoing operation of Hyperdrive, American Express's enterprise platform for real-time data processing.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and internal application teams to guide customers through onboarding and contribute to the platform's ongoing evolution.
  • Gain hands-on experience in enterprise product management, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and delivering modern data products that enable real-time business capabilities across American Express.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. We welcome candidates from diverse academic backgrounds, including social and behavioral sciences, physical sciences, business, engineering, and computer science.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience, including internships, in product management, product operations, technology, consulting, business analysis, customer success, project coordination, or other collaborative problem-solving roles.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize information, identify patterns, and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly and build productive relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn technical concepts, software tools, and enterprise technologies.
  • Comfortable working with data, documentation, and technical resources to investigate issues and support decision-making.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong sense of ownership, and a desire to continuously learn and grow.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or professional experience supporting software products, enterprise technology platforms, or digital operations.
  • Familiarity with Agile product development practices and tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or visualization tools through coursework, internships, research, or professional experience.
  • Experience using or learning technical collaboration tools such as GitHub, API documentation, SQL, or similar technologies.
