Associate Product Manager
Job Description
Clasp is hiring its first Associate Product Manager to support Product Managers across Clasp Talent. This is a remote role for candidates in the ET/CT time zones, focused on turning customer and partner signals into actionable product work, and validating what changes after release through measurement and reporting.
You will collaborate with PMs and engineering to translate research, support, and usage insights into clear specifications, tickets, and launch plans, while also helping keep partner data and HRIS or payroll integrations aligned.
What you’ll do
- Interview students and employer users, run surveys, and convert what you learn into insights PMs can act on.
- Collect feedback from support tickets, Partner Success, sales calls, and usage data, then identify patterns across sources.
- Run short research efforts such as competitive reviews or vendor evaluations to inform roadmap decisions.
- Draft user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria with PMs and engineers.
- After each release, track feature performance, write follow-up tickets and fast-follows, and create reproducible bug tickets.
- Advise Partner Success and Implementation on complex or unusual partner setups to clarify what partners need and how the system should respond.
- Maintain synchronization between partner data and system rules by learning which data drives which rules, detecting drift, and turning recurring issues into product fixes.
- Partner with Operations on data backfills and cleanup by defining fix scope, checking results, and communicating changes to affected teams.
- Explain how product and rule changes affect participants, payments, and reporting to internal teams and partners.
- Before launch, help define success and confirm that measurement is in place.
- Write release notes for Partner Success, Sales, and leadership, including what is shipping, why it matters, and what should change.
- Create demos, walkthrough videos, and launch materials that communicate the problem and value of new features.
- Build and maintain dashboards to monitor feature adoption and progress against expected metrics.
- Share 30- and 60-day impact readouts comparing expectations to outcomes, then translate gaps into next-step work.
What you bring
- 1 to 3 years of experience in product, analytics, product operations, implementation, consulting, or a related area.
- Data skills including dashboard building, comfort using SQL for analysis and data quality checks, and experience with a product analytics tool such as PostHog, Amplitude, or Mixpanel.
- Measurement instinct to define feature success and separate meaningful results from noise.
- Systems thinking to trace how data and rules interact, spot edge cases and conflicts, and consider downstream effects before launch.
- User curiosity shown through direct user conversations and the ability to distinguish stated requests from underlying needs.
- Clear writing for engineer-ready specs and tickets, along with the ability to explain technical logic to non-technical partners.
- Technical comfort working alongside engineers and understanding how software is built.
- Ownership with follow-through on details, including behind-the-scenes work, and early identification of problems.
