Associate Product Manager

Copart is seeking an Associate Product Manager in San Francisco to support product discovery and delivery while building the foundation needed to lead Copart products. In this fast-moving, cross-functional role, you will connect customer insight with commercial judgment, data-informed decisions, and hands-on execution.

This full-time position reports to a Product Management Leader and is classified as on-site in San Francisco, with travel to operating locations, the Dallas headquarters, and customers as needed.

What you’ll do

• Define a clear product vision and roadmap for early-career product management.
• Build a deep understanding of buyer, seller, partner, employee, and operational needs through research, data, and direct observation.
• Translate enterprise priorities into measurable customer and business outcomes.
• Make tradeoffs explicit across value, effort, risk, and strategic fit.
• Partner with Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Security, and other teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Write clear product requirements, define acceptance criteria, and maintain an actionable backlog.
• Establish release plans, manage dependencies, and remove barriers to execution.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, accessible, and supportable.
• Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to evaluate product performance and prioritize improvements.
• Run structured experiments and convert learning into roadmap decisions.
• Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and results with clarity.
• Build trust with field and corporate stakeholders, and engage users early during discovery and delivery.
• Create practical adoption plans, training, communications, and feedback loops.
• Model ownership, disciplined decision-making, and follow-through.
• Represent the product perspective in cross-functional planning and executive discussions.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; internship or project experience in product, analytics, design, engineering, or operations preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to define ambiguous problems, align stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Strong analytical, communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Experience partnering across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, and business functions.
• Familiarity with agile product development, experimentation, analytics, and modern cloud platforms.
• Ability to work from Copart’s San Francisco office and travel to operating locations, Dallas headquarters, and customers as needed.

• Salary: USD 85,000 - 105,000 per year
• Travel: To operating locations, Dallas headquarters, and customers as needed
