Digital/Technical Product Manager Lead
Job Description
USAA is seeking a Digital/Technical Product Manager Lead to support Air Traffic Control for member communications across the association. In this onsite role, you will design, drive, and optimize multi-platform digital and technology products by leading strategy, execution, and performance measurement against KPIs and KRIs.
Role focus
You will shepherd highly complex, integrated, and strategic digital or technology product and experience opportunities from early idea through market validation. The work centers on advancing member communications, shaping product direction, and ensuring delivery teams align on outcomes, requirements, and initiative plans.
Key responsibilities
- Use Digital or Technology research, business and market intelligence, and data-driven insights to identify opportunities, propose solutions, create and maintain roadmaps, and improve product performance.
- Lead teams and stakeholders to envision and define digital or technology product and experience opportunities, translating customer needs and wants and other inputs into initiatives such as requirements, epics, and features, then drive execution strategy.
- Collaborate with business, UX, technology, operations, marketing, and other relevant stakeholders and SMEs to guide discovery, development, delivery, and validation for integrated product concepts.
- Develop and defend digital and technology product and experience investments using business case artifacts and hypotheses, communicating value propositions for prioritized work.
- Apply expert data-driven problem-solving and analytical rigor to understand and report performance against KPIs and KRIs, and share best practices with team members.
- Generate actionable insights using a range of tools and resources, ensuring improvements are implemented after opportunity areas are identified.
- Set standards for presentations and other communications that explain complex concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership; facilitate definition and collaboration sessions to coordinate delivery and mitigate risks and dependencies.
- Conduct internal and external research and situational analysis to identify and apply industry best practices and trends to improve product effectiveness.
- Manage ambiguity and influence others to think at a big-picture level, building clarity, solution paths, and execution plans among stakeholders.
- Maintain expert understanding of product management, along with business, technology, UX, and relevant processes and experiences.
- Provide guidance and mentoring, serve as an escalation point, and ensure issues are resolved.
- Ensure risks related to business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree; or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 8 years of Digital/Technology Product Management experience, including experience across Strategy/Planning, Innovation, User Experience, Process Engineering, Analytics, and/or Research/Testing; or an advanced degree with 6 years of Digital/Technology Product Management experience covering the same areas.
- Ability to connect and influence cross-functional teams, including experience driving alignment in matrixed organizations through communication and problem-solving.
- Business acumen with direct experience in financial product verticals such as banking and insurance, including understanding economics and trends.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear platform implications and technical specifications to inform prioritization.
- Understanding of platform architecture and backend systems to evaluate feasibility, estimate effort, and advance technical conversations.
- Ability to bridge business partners and technical teams to ensure solutions are technically sound under constraints and aligned to overall platform strategy.
- Demonstrated systems thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and challenge the status quo.
- Ability to define and implement a digital product vision for 5+ years.

Compensation
- Salary range: USD 143,320 - 273,930 per year.
- Pay is within the salary range based on experience and market data for the position; actual salary may vary by location.
- Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
