Job Description
USAA seeks a Digital Technical Product Manager Lead to oversee discovery, delivery, and performance for digital and technology products and member experiences within the Digital Claims domain. This role is remote eligible across the continental U.S., with occasional business travel and an on-site expectation for select locations.
Role Overview
The Digital Technical Product Manager Lead leads the product lifecycle for complex digital and technology initiatives, spanning strategy through market validation. The position focuses on improving member and internal experiences, translating research and data into roadmaps and execution plans, and ensuring performance against key measures.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery, delivery, and performance of digital and technology products and the experiences they enable for USAA and its members.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to address complex problems and optimize the internal and external customer experience tied to market offerings.
- Design and drive implementation of multi-platform technology and digital solutions.
- Optimize and improve existing products and experiences across delivery channels and platforms to drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Apply User Centered Design and Design Thinking practices to bring Digital and/or Technology driven products to market.
- Develop product strategy, vision, and goals, and justify decisions related to the balance and mix of innovation types and investments for Digital and Technology products across complex, significant scope.
- Use Digital/Technology research, business and market intelligence, and data-driven insights to identify opportunities, propose solutions, create and maintain roadmaps, and improve performance.
- Lead teams and stakeholders to envision, define, and translate product and experience opportunities into initiatives such as requirements, epics, and features, and drive execution strategy.
- Guide highly complex and integrated Digital/Technology product and experience concepts from idea through market validation in collaboration with business, UX, technology, operations, marketing, and other SMEs.
- Quantify and defend product and experience investments through business case artifacts and hypotheses, communicating the value proposition to stakeholders.
- Apply data-driven problem-solving and analytical rigor to understand and report performance against KPIs/KRIs, and share best practices with the team.
- Generate insights using multiple tools and resources to identify opportunities, and follow through to ensure improvements are implemented.
- Set standards for presentations and communications for diverse audiences, including senior leadership, and facilitate sessions to coordinate discovery, development, delivery, and validation while mitigating risks and dependencies.
- Conduct internal and external research and situational analysis to identify and apply industry best practices and trends to improve Digital and/or Technology products.
- Manage ambiguity, influence stakeholders toward big-picture thinking, and drive clarity, solutions, and execution plans.
- Provide expert knowledge across business, technology, UX, and relevant experiences, with strong command of Product Management.
- Deliver guidance and mentoring to team members, serve as an escalation point, and ensure issues are resolved.
- Ensure risks from business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 8 years of Digital/Technology Product Management experience, including Digital/Technology experience in Strategy/Planning, Innovation, User Experience, Process Engineering, Analytics, and/or Research/Testing; OR an Advanced degree with 6 years of Digital/Technology Product Management experience in the same areas.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Technology/Digital products and emerging technology platforms, including application data analysis and research techniques and standards.
- Proven ability to develop, influence, present, and communicate highly complex business, digital, or technology concepts to cross-functional teams, non-technical users, and senior leadership.

- Technologies: AEM; Guidewire claims platform.
- Location: San Antonio, TX (remote).
- Travel: Remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.
- On-site expectation: Individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office are expected to work on-site four days per week.

Compensation
- Salary range: $143,320 - $273,930 per year.
- Pay is based on experience and market data for the position.
- Actual salary may vary by location.
- Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
