Job Description

USAA is seeking a Senior Digital/Technical Product Manager to support the discovery, delivery, and performance of digital and technology products and the experiences members rely on. In this role, you will shape product strategy and roadmaps, lead cross-functional work, and use user-centered design and data-driven insights to drive outcomes against KPIs and KRIs.

What you’ll do

  • Independently apply Digital or Technology research, business and market intelligence, and data-driven insights to identify opportunities, propose solutions, build and maintain roadmaps, and improve performance.
  • Convert Digital or Technology product and experience opportunities, including customer “needs” and “wants,” into initiatives such as requirements, epics, and features, then drive execution strategy.
  • Guide complex Digital or Technology product and experience opportunities from idea through market validation by partnering with relevant stakeholders and SMEs across Business, UX, Technology, Ops, and Marketing.
  • Develop business case artifacts and hypotheses to support scoping and prioritization of efforts.
  • Use advanced data-driven problem-solving and analytical rigor to understand and report product and experience performance against KPIs and KRIs.
  • Generate insights using a range of tools and resources to pinpoint opportunities that inform Digital or Technology product and experience improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional product teams and relationships to discover and build new Digital or Technology products, experiences, and features aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Create presentations and other communication templates to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Conduct internal and external research and situational analysis, applying industry best practices and trends to improve effectiveness of Digital or Technology products.
  • Bring “big picture” thinking to clarify direction for teams and stakeholders.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of the Business, Technology, UX, and relevant experiences and processes, with an academic understanding of Product Management.
  • Serve as a resource for team members and assist with onboarding new employees.
  • Ensure risks tied to business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 6 years of Digital/Technology Product Management experience, including Digital/Technology experience in areas such as Strategy/Planning, Innovation, User Experience, Process Engineering, Analytics, and/or Research/Testing.
  • Proven ability to develop, influence, present, and communicate complex concepts to cross-functional teams, non-technical users, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile, Lean Product Development and Lean Portfolio Management environment.
  • Knowledge of digital and technology strategy and delivery methods related to roadmap development, journey mapping, competitive analysis and research, and situational analysis.
  • Knowledge of digital and technology strategy and delivery as it relates to Experience Design and Human Centered Design, including roadmap development, journey mapping, competitive analysis and research, and situational analysis.

The opportunity

As a Senior Digital/Technical Product Manager, you will facilitate discovery, delivery, and performance of digital and technology products and experiences for USAA and its members. You will design and drive implementation of multi-platform technology and digital solutions, optimize existing products across delivery channels and platforms, and use User Centered Design and Design Thinking to bring Digital and/or Technology-driven products to market. You will also develop product strategy, vision, and goals, justifying decisions around the balance and mix of innovation types and investments.

Compensation and location

  • Location: San Antonio, TX (hybrid)
  • Salary range: USD 114,080 - 218,030 per year

USAA uses an effective process to assess market data and establish ranges to remain competitive. Your pay will be within the stated range based on experience and market data, and actual salary may vary by location. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
