Financial Crimes Sr. Product Owner / Sr. Business Analyst

Bank of America is seeking a Financial Crimes Sr. Product Owner / Sr. Business Analyst to help shape and deliver technology products that support Financial Crimes operations and investigations. In this onsite role in Charlotte, NC, you will partner with business, technology, and operations stakeholders to translate objectives into a prioritized roadmap and measurable improvements.

What you will do

• Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap for applications supporting Financial Crimes investigations and operations, with a focus on maximizing value for business partners and end users.
• Deliver initiatives using Agile methodologies by maintaining a well-defined product backlog, applying a prioritization framework, and mapping release plans to business objectives.
• Gather, analyze, and document actionable business and functional requirements for complex technology initiatives, translating business needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze data, business processes, and application performance metrics to synthesize insights, identify trends, and support strategic product and process improvements.
• Coordinate across business, operations, technology, and leadership stakeholders to align on product roadmaps, priorities, risks, and key decisions.
• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned products and business processes, providing guidance, driving innovation, and supporting strategic decision-making.
• Own and manage end-to-end product risk through preventive controls, monitoring activities, issue identification, and effective remediation to reduce recurring issues and ensure operational stability.
• Manage a portfolio of technology applications used by Financial Crimes teams, balancing competing priorities, resource capacity, timelines, and delivery commitments.
• Partner with technology teams across solution design, development, testing, implementation, production support, and ongoing platform enhancements to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Develop and execute test plans and test scripts, support user acceptance testing, and use tools such as Jira, SQL, Teradata, Hadoop, and Microsoft Office for product delivery, data analysis, and change management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Product Management, Technology Delivery, or a related discipline.
• Experience managing technology products, applications, or platforms in an Agile environment.
• Strong requirement-gathering experience, translating business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Experience using Jira for backlog management, Agile delivery, and change management.
• Experience developing and executing test scripts and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Strong data analysis skills, including querying data using SQL.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms such as Teradata and Hadoop.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, project timelines, and delivery dependencies in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting Financial Crimes, AML, KYC, Fraud, Sanctions, or Compliance organizations.
• Experience in process improvement, workflow automation, and technology transformation initiatives.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
