Forward Deployed Product Manager (FDPM)
Job Description
Embed with a client delivery team as an AI-native product leader, building and running an end-to-end agentic “harness” to turn business problems into specs, demos, and delivered product value.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and mobilization (first ~2 weeks): assess team and client needs, decompose the problem, and stand up the agentic harness for the product.
- Build and skill AI agents for the harness: create agent skills and tools, author markdown/context files, and engineer the context the harness uses to reason.
- Write specifications and drive spec-driven development: produce clear, open specs that the AI harness can pick up and iterate on.
- Prototype and vibe-code to shape the product: create clickable prototypes and concepts with AI to align stakeholders (concepts and UI only, not production code).
- Partner with stakeholders on requirements: capture evolving business requirements and continuously refine them into the technical form the harness executes and iterates.
- Run the harness and demos independently: demonstrate the working product, the value delivered, and how the harness operates at each step without needing an engineer on the call.
- Shape and prioritize the feature pipeline: manage features within a sprint, epics across sprints, and keep the delivery runway healthy.
- Manage delivery expectations: own delivery commitments and keep the team aligned with what stakeholders expect.
- Embed end to end: lead one harness team from discovery through spec and business requirement creation to running demos of the working product and the harness itself.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in product, technical-product, or delivery leadership with technical fluency (APIs, integrations, cloud) and strong client-facing delivery.
- 1+ year of AI-first experience (building agents, spec-driven development, context engineering, and AI prototyping).
- 1+ year of GenAI and LLM fundamentals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years work experience). If Associate Degree, minimum 6 years work experience.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or OpenAI Codex (relevant certifications are a plus).
- Experience in regulated industries or environments with notable privacy, security, compliance, or risk requirements.
- Professional certification in Product Management, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or related areas.
