Job Description
From Cox Automotive's Atlanta hub, the Recon Solutions and Services release train is central to unifying recon tools and processes across Manheim auction sites. In the role of Lead Product Manager, you will steer the One Recon platform, shaping strategic direction, guiding cross-functional delivery, and driving innovations that modernize retail recon operations at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own the platform's strategic vision and multi-horizon roadmap for One Recon, aligned with Cox Automotive's goals and Manheim's operational priorities.
- Define and articulate a clear platform strategy that informs prioritization, investment trade-offs, and long-term capability development.
- Lead quarterly and annual planning with product leadership to shape the release train's direction and influence resource allocation.
- Identify and champion opportunities to modernize retail recon operations, replace legacy tooling, and reduce manual processes across Manheim's auction network.
- Drive innovation across platform capabilities, recon workflow tooling, and integrations with vendors and auction systems.
- Lead product discovery to understand the strategic and operational challenges faced by auction site operators, translating insights into platform-level opportunities.
- Build and manage senior relationships with auction operators, operations partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the roadmap reflects site-level needs and enterprise priorities.
- Synthesize platform usage patterns, operational trends, and stakeholder feedback into strategic recommendations guiding roadmap decisions and investments.
- Serve as the organizational authority on recon workflows, auction operations, and the systems and integrations under One Recon.
- Provide strategic delivery oversight across the release train, ensuring engineering, UX, and architecture teams are aligned and capable of high-quality, timely execution.
- Shape platform-level work definitions to maximize business value and operational impact.
- Ensure the health and integrity of the product backlog, partnering with leadership and PMs to maintain clear requirements and delivery standards.
- Remove strategic blockers and make high-impact prioritization decisions to maintain momentum.
- Coordinate alignment across multiple teams and workstreams to foster a shared understanding of platform strategy, priorities, and progress.
- Represent Recon Solutions and Services in senior forums, communicating roadmap direction, platform health, and key decisions with clarity.
- Champion go-to-market readiness, including release communications, operator enablement, and documentation that drives adoption of new platform capabilities.
- Foster strong cross-functional partnerships across Cox Automotive to advance One Recon's role in the broader recon ecosystem.
- Mentor and coach product managers on discovery, prioritization, stakeholder management, and roadmap communication.
- Model best practices in product management and help establish team norms, frameworks, and ways of working that improve consistency and quality.
- Serve as a thought partner for PMs navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and ambiguous problem spaces.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Communications, or a related discipline, plus 6+ years of experience in product management or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered (Master's with 4+ years; PhD with 2+ years; or 10+ years of experience).
- Experience owning end-to-end product lifecycle activities for a software product or platform, including discovery, roadmapping, backlog management, and release delivery.
- Experience managing a product backlog in an Agile environment, including epic decomposition, story prioritization, and sprint or program increment planning.
- Experience presenting product strategy, roadmaps, and prioritization decisions to senior leadership.
- Experience leading cross-functional alignment across matrixed stakeholder groups (Engineering, UX/Design, Architecture, Operations, etc.).
- Experience applying AI tools within a product management workflow, including discovery synthesis, requirement drafting, prototyping, and competitive analysis.

Compensation
USD 111,500.00 - 185,900.00 per year
