Job Description

Cox Automotive is looking for a Product Operations Senior Lead Product Manager to shape how product teams plan, build, and measure outcomes across the enterprise. In this onsite role in Burlington, VT, you will lead product operations maturity by embedding AI-first ways of working into discovery, definition, build, launch, and measurement, then operationalize shared standards across Cox Automotive.

You will partner across the product development lifecycle to create repeatable practices and enable teams to adopt enterprise expectations, shifting from an AI-aware organization to an AI-native product operating model.

What you will do

  • Lead the creation and adoption of strategies that enable Cox Automotive product team members to deliver best-in-class products.
  • Manage shared product management discipline standards across Cox Automotive and run initiatives that support product management excellence.
  • Support product readiness processes for key initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partners across the product development lifecycle to define and operationalize best practices.
  • Develop learning and development programs and drive adoption of enterprise standards.
  • Embed AI-first methodologies into how teams discover, define, build, launch, and measure products, accelerating the shift to AI-native ways of working.
  • Identify, develop, and administer enterprise-wide initiatives designed to improve Product Operations across portfolios.
  • Drive processes that improve product management maturity, skills, and consistency across Cox Automotive.
  • Own and evolve the enterprise discipline framework, including standards for discovery, specification, delivery, and post-launch measurement.
  • Lead development and adoption of AI-first approaches to product management across CAPTG.
  • Integrate AI tools (for example, Claude and Pendo AI) into workflows including discovery, research synthesis, specification writing, and launch readiness.
  • Develop reusable playbooks, skills, prompts, and agents to standardize and scale applied AI.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert and evangelist for applied AI in product management.
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Readiness teams, and other teams internal to the Product COE and CAPTG to coordinate efforts and promote awareness for Product Operations initiatives.
  • Catalyze behavioral change through knowledge sharing and curated resources that drive buy-in and adoption.

Core requirements

  • Lead adoption of AI-first approaches to product management with working knowledge of LLMs (Claude preferred), prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
  • Provide excellent service to internal stakeholders while seeking incremental value.
  • Think critically and broadly about integrating tools, processes, and standards to create compounding value.
  • Teach others and clarify best practices in a way that drives buy-in and adoption.
  • Self-motivated and able to independently drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to operate broadly across diverse teams and stakeholders with macro and enterprise-level thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable communicating at all levels including senior leadership.

Experience and education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years of experience in a related field. Alternative combinations may include a master's degree with 6 years, a Ph.D. with 3 years, or 20 years of experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a product organization directly in product management, or a combination of product management and product operations.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools to real product management workflows with measurable results.
  • Direct involvement driving continuous improvement and large operational change management initiatives.
  • Strong ability to build business relationships and contribute to the enterprise vision at Cox Automotive.
  • Strong ability to assess capabilities and gaps and build plans to address training needs.

Working knowledge of

  • AI in Product Management (hands-on, not theoretical).
  • Change Management and ADKAR.
  • Double Diamond framework.

Nice to have

  • Claude and Pendo.
  • Consulting experience.
  • Spec Driven Development.
  • Certified in Human Centered Design.

Location and compensation

  • Location: Burlington, VT (onsite)
  • Base salary range: USD $134,900 - $224,900 per year
  • Base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on the ultimate location and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • May be eligible for additional compensation, which could include an incentive program.
