Thermo Fisher Scientific invites applications for a Manager of Product Operations in a regulated medical device setting. This onsite role in West Hills, CA emphasizes hands-on leadership, execution excellence, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive product lifecycle execution and portfolio cadence.

Compensation

USD 113,500 - 170,200 per year

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily execution across the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with roadmaps, schedules, and quality standards
  • Translate portfolio strategy into clear execution plans, milestones, and cross-functional deliverables
  • Manage lifecycle execution including new product introductions (NPI), design transfers, sustaining changes, and end-of-life activities
  • Ensure execution adheres to quality systems, regulatory requirements, and internal processes
  • Proactively identify and mitigate execution risks, resource constraints, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Strengthen delivery predictability by applying standardized processes, governance, and tools
  • Collaborate closely onsite with R&D, QARA, Operations, and other stakeholders to enable rapid issue resolution and informed decision making
  • Measure success through execution metrics and business outcomes, including on-time launches, reduced delays, and improved portfolio predictability
  • Manage team capacity and performance to consistently meet delivery commitments
  • Develop team members, including Associate Product Managers responsible for lower-complexity and mature products, ensuring execution remains within portfolio strategy and guardrails

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product operations, or related roles within a regulated industry such as medical devices, diagnostics, or life sciences
  • 2+ years of people management experience with a track record of leading teams and developing talent
  • Strong experience in execution-focused roles with ownership of delivery, cross-functional coordination, and operational rigor
  • Solid understanding of product lifecycle management in a regulated environment, including NPI, design controls, and change management
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into execution across cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations partners
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening

Job Description

The role leads the Product Operations team within a regulated medical device environment. This onsite position in West Hills emphasizes hands-on leadership, execution excellence, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs (QARA), Operations, and Finance.

This is a product operations and execution leadership position responsible for driving product lifecycle execution such as launch readiness, design transfer, lifecycle changes, and obsolescence, while ensuring alignment with regulatory and quality requirements. The role owns the portfolio execution cadence, including roadmaps, reviews, and milestone tracking, and translates product strategy into coordinated cross-functional execution plans.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, who owns portfolio strategy and prioritization, this role delivers against that strategy through disciplined, predictable execution across the team.
