Procurement Product & Operations Specialist
Job Description
ICW Group is seeking a Procurement Product & Operations Specialist to help shape and deliver procurement technology capabilities that support strategic sourcing and third-party risk processes. In a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA, you will align product features and enhancements to company priorities while bridging business stakeholders, development teams, and end users across PVMS and source-to-pay and third-party risk systems.
Role focus
- Define and communicate the continuous refinement of the PVMS technology vision and growth opportunities, ensuring users have effective and efficient access to relevant information.
- Review manual PVMS processes and identify ways to transition work onto the PVMS technology platforms.
- Own product outcomes with business and IT leadership, covering user-centric goals from discovery through delivery.
- Lead orchestration of key sourcing and third-party risk processes to support consistency in identification, prioritization, and execution.
Delivery, support, and continuous improvement
- Participate in review of PVMS project, process, and technology support requests, ensuring process and system requirements are identified, evaluated, tested, implemented, and aligned with PVMS strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with leaders and IT to execute the product roadmap.
- Oversee application configuration technical requirements and ensure appropriate implementation of changes.
- Maintain accountability across each development stage, evaluating progress and performance at each iteration and collaborating on decisions to move forward.
- Oversee data analytics and reporting functionality so decision-making information is available and easily accessible.
- Anticipate future product needs by maintaining user personas and journey maps.
- Achieve baseline cycle times and conduct retrospectives to drive continuous improvement of process and/or technology.
- Assess current practices using data analysis and best practices, recommending continuous improvement processes/products to reach targeted metrics for strategic sourcing and third-party risk success.
Operational excellence and governance
- Support the department by identifying and resolving operational challenges.
- Drive business process design and improvement projects.
- Introduce industry best practices through center of excellence capabilities, including training and knowledge sharing.
- Build process excellence awareness across the department and with team members and leaders.
- Support organizational transformation, standardization, and faster execution.
- Assist in development and maintenance of procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned to company strategic goals.
Technology administration and user enablement
- Handle PVMS technology support and administration, including day-to-day issue resolution, and ensure high-quality customer service to end users.
- Drive data integrity within PVMS technology systems.
- Oversee and maintain user security, implementing audit, research, and resolution processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience, including leading product implementations, collecting business needs, and translating requirements to a technical audience.
- Extensive experience implementing, maintaining, and administering Source to Pay platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, and Zycus (etc.).
- Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, with the ability to launch and manage products or platforms.
- Knowledge of Agile processes and principles.
- Ability to map value stream across business lines.
- Technical expertise and understanding of product development practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to leadership and working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Six Sigma certification or training preferred.
- Procurement and supply management certifications preferred, such as SPSM, CPSM, CPP, CSCP, or CPPM.
- Experience in SaaS technology or cloud preferred.
- Experience with procurement, contracts, and third-party risk in the financial services or insurance industry highly desired.
- Insurance industry understanding.

Compensation and job details
- Location: San Diego, CA (hybrid)
- Salary: USD 90,559 - 152,723 per year
- This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final base salary is determined by factors including experience, education, and role location, considering employees performing substantially similar work.
