Product Design Manager
Job Description
Capital One is hiring a Product Design Manager (Individual Contributor) to lead end-to-end product experience design for its Premium Design team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with design craft leads, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to raise the bar on creative execution while delivering meaningful business impact and customer value
- Co-create solutions to complex problems and contribute to product strategy decisions
- Lead design projects by directing and delegating work for more junior team members
- Build strong partnerships across product, technology, and business while mentoring and maturing the broader product design practice
- Determine the use of relevant tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems, and produce design artifacts including journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
- Balance partner and stakeholder needs using critical thinking informed by data, research insights, scalability, and technology constraints
- Apply customer insights, competitor perspectives, and broader market trends to shape a shared viewpoint for the team and stakeholders
- Use knowledge of technology, data capabilities, and emerging technologies to inform design work and help teams move faster within technical limitations
- Leverage a network of partnerships across lines of business to foster collaboration, share solutions, incorporate cross-functional perspectives, and support product strategy
- Present work across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data, and research to influence strategic decision-making
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 5 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Experience working with and contributing to an established design system
- Experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners
- Experience leading design projects or teams
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 6 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma

Compensation
- New York, NY (onsite): $179,700 - $205,100 per year
- Candidates hired in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI)
