Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full product development cycle, including line plan creation, sample coordination, costing, testing, and production handoff.
  • Collaborate with category leaders on pricing and markup targets, monitoring these goals throughout development.
  • Review and approve copy, packaging layouts, and product details as required.
  • Handle day-to-day operations of core product development projects, such as sample management, development grids, and retailer-specific systems.
  • Own timelines, critical paths, and status reports to ensure on-time delivery of key milestones.
  • Perform competitive analysis and trend research to support product positioning and innovation.
  • Participate in competitive shops to understand the retail landscape and guide assortment, trend, and pricing decisions.
  • Communicate daily with sourcing, design, and logistics teams to keep projects advancing smoothly.
  • Partner with business leaders to gather insights and support account-specific product needs.
  • Assist in preparing line reviews and product decks for retailer buyers, ensuring materials are complete and compelling.
  • Analyze post-launch performance, including sales, profitability, and customer feedback, to drive data-informed improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Product Development, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product development, merchandising, or a related role.
  • Experience in consumer goods or retail is preferred; vendor experience is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project goals.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools and Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
