Product Manager
Job Description
R A Pearson Company is looking for a Product Manager to help drive growth across assigned product lines. This onsite role in Spokane, WA focuses on expanding Pearson’s reach in packaging automation by shaping new products, pursuing market opportunities, and strengthening strategic partnerships.
In this position, you will own the product lifecycle end to end, with emphasis on identifying where growth can come from, aligning customer needs to build plans, and guiding launches that meet performance and commercial targets.
What you’ll do
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities by targeting new markets, industry verticals, and applications through competitive analysis, market segmentation, and assessment of market size, share, and growth.
- Evaluate Pearson’s current portfolio and positioning, then build business cases for new products, partnerships, and market entries.
- Collect voice-of-customer insights via customer visits, sales and service feedback, and industry events.
- Translate customer input into clear product requirements, including performance targets, target cost, target price point, and compliance and safety needs for engineering to design new machines and enhancements.
- Launch and prioritize new product and service development projects in partnership with engineering and project engineering.
- Track milestones and coordinate with operations and design teams to support launches on schedule and aligned to customer, performance, and margin objectives.
- Own go-to-market and commercial success, planning and executing product launches across the marketing mix: Product (launch configurations, standard options, and aftermarket offerings), Price (list pricing, option pricing, and discount guidelines with monitoring of price realization), Place (channel strategy across direct sales, distributors, and integrator partners, including training and tools), and Promotion (develop positio… where provided).
- Manage product line performance by developing and maintaining business plans covering revenue, margin, and forecasting for new and existing products.
- Drive cost reductions, lead ongoing enhancements, and manage end-of-life transitions.
Minimum qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a technically related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of product management experience or a comparable background
- Proven ability to set strategic direction and manage the full product lifecycle effectively
- Effective and creative problem-solving skills with a focus on collaboration and innovation
- Demonstrated judgment and ability to lead and organize cross-functional meetings, committees, and people professionally
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and presentation skills
