Job Description

Product Manager for Fitch Ratings PRO platform and ratings APIs, based in New York with hybrid work options, accountable for planning, building, and delivering the flagship Ratings Data & Research platform and APIs, translating customer needs into a prioritized roadmap and guiding cross-functional execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap, development, and ongoing stewardship of the flagship Ratings Data & Research platform and APIs.
  • Convert customer and stakeholder input into a prioritized roadmap with clear requirements and an executable plan that yields measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Business Strategy, Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Fitch Ratings teams to define problems, validate solutions, and ship high-quality platform and API enhancements.
  • Iterate based on usage analytics, client feedback, and operational performance metrics such as quality, timeliness, and reliability.
  • Lead discovery and craft product requirements including PRDs, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria; manage trade-offs, align stakeholders, and drive delivery with cross-functional teams.
  • Define and monitor product KPIs (adoption, retention, revenue impact, data quality and timeliness, client satisfaction) and use them to steer iteration, release planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Increase business value through new product launches as well as enhancements and ongoing support of existing offerings via Fitch Ratings PRO.
  • Collaborate with other product managers to execute the overarching vision established by the Head of Product.
  • Set the strategic direction for the Fitch Ratings PRO platform and its ratings APIs.
  • Define OKRs and KPIs, shape a roadmap that balances client value, revenue impact, data quality, and technical feasibility, and maintain a transparent release plan.
  • Prioritize initiatives with clear rationale and documented trade-offs, weighing new capabilities against reducing technical debt.
  • Customer and Domain Discovery
    • Apply knowledge of credit data and research to translate workflows into concrete product requirements.
    • Conduct ongoing customer discovery (interviews, workflow walkthroughs, feedback sessions) and partner with Sales and Customer Success to validate needs before and after release.
    • Advocate for the customer externally with clients and internally as the voice of the customer.
  • API Product Development
    • Lead the full lifecycle of data products from conception through launch and continuous improvement.
    • Consolidate requirements into initiatives and epics, sequence and prioritize them, and prepare them for engineering breakdown.
    • Maintain focus on data quality, usability, governance, and scalability throughout.
  • Business-to-Technical Translation & Delivery
    • Bridge business stakeholders and technical teams by translating needs into PRDs, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
    • Lead agile delivery including backlog management, sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
    • Manage capacity, dependencies, and delivery risk with Engineering and Data leadership.
  • Go-to-Market & Performance
    • Support product launches, sales enablement, and market positioning.
    • Track adoption, retention, revenue impact, data quality, and client satisfaction to guide iteration and improvement.
    • Communicate product performance and roadmap health to stakeholders via Quarterly Business Reviews and other sessions; support clients through documentation, training, and enablement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years in product management, ideally within financial services, financial information services, or FinTech.
  • Strong expertise in credit markets including market structure, workflows, client segments, and commercial dynamics.
  • Proven track record delivering initiatives from discovery to delivery with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in Agile environments using Jira, with iterative delivery.
  • Comfort collaborating with technical teams and a solid understanding of software development.
  • Awareness of where AI and ML add real value in data product contexts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to align and influence in a matrix organization.

What would make you stand out

  • Experience building or managing commercial products in credit.
  • Hands-on AI/ML applications such as intelligent search, LLM chatbots, or recommendation engines.
  • Experience spanning both platform and API capabilities, including website and API products.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype with tools such as Figma and Make.

For New York

  • Base pay range: $130,000 to $180,000 per year. Actual compensation is determined individually and may vary by education, experience, performance, and other factors; base pay is part of Fitch's total compensation package, which may include commissions, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits.
