Product Manager - Thermal Management Systems

Daikin Applied’s thermal management team is looking for a product-focused leader to help shape and deliver its thermal management product portfolio. In this hybrid role based in Staunton, VA (or remote within the US), you will own the product lifecycle from initial concept through launch, with responsibility spanning strategy, development, and commercialization for cooling solutions used in commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments.

What you’ll do

• Own the multi-year product roadmap and strategic vision for the thermal management portfolio, including liquid cooling systems and related heat-rejection equipment.
• Run voice-of-customer (VoC) research and competitive analysis to uncover emerging market trends, regulatory shifts, and unmet customer needs.
• Convert market requirements into clear, detailed product specifications.
• Partner with R&D and engineering to guide development, including management of cost, manufacturability, performance targets, and launch timelines.
• Work with supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to optimize margins, oversee value-engineering (Cost-Out) efforts, and support supply chain resilience.
• Develop product positioning, pricing strategies, technical literature, and sales-enablement training for global sales channels and regional execution.
• Track product adoption, field performance, and profitability, and execute lifecycle updates, enhancements, or phase-outs as needed.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of related experience in product management, application engineering, or product marketing within the HVAC, building automation, or industrial thermal management sector.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, chillers, or cooling infrastructure.
• Proven cross-functional leadership, communication, and ability to influence stakeholders across engineering and commercial teams.
• Direct experience with data center thermal architecture or liquid cooling technologies (CDUs, direct-to-chip cooling) and experience with Dry Coolers (preferred).

Compensation & location

• Location: Staunton, VA (Hybrid) or Remote in the US
• Base salary range: USD 80,400 - 136,800 per year in Virginia, plus 10% bonus (typical annual base salary + 10% bonus)
