Job Description

The Senior Product Owner will shape the Workday Compensation and Benefits product ecosystem, guiding the roadmap, pursuing AI enabled innovations, and delivering scalable solutions aligned with business strategy. This role engages with Total Rewards leaders, HR technology teams, solution architects, platform groups, and outsourced vendors to modernize the Benefits experience in an Irvine onsite setting.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate and steward the Compensation & Benefits product vision along with a multi year roadmap.
  • Translate strategic business goals into concrete outcomes, features, and prioritized work streams.
  • Lead backlog prioritization using value based frameworks that consider user experience, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Total Rewards leadership.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in compensation cycles including merit, bonus, and equity programs.
  • Provide guidance on benefits design, administration, regulatory and compliance considerations.
  • Encourage simplification and scalability of processes by guiding stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with solution engineers and architects to design scalable Workday configurations.
  • Oversee the end to end product lifecycle from discovery through design, build, and release.
  • Lead prototyping and design thinking sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Identify AI driven opportunities for compensation insights such as pay equity and recommendations.
  • Explore opportunities for benefits personalization and employee decision support.
  • Partner with platform teams to embed AI, automation, and analytics within the product ecosystem.
  • Own backlog, prioritization, and delivery alignment.
  • Ensure alignment with platform standards, data governance, security, and compliance expectations.
  • Drive adoption and measure outcomes such as compensation cycle efficiency and employee experience.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards leaders, HR technology teams, solution architects, platform teams, outsourced benefits vendors, and delivery teams to drive roadmaps, delivery, adoption, and measurable business results.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of HR technology and Workday experience with deep Compensation and Benefits domain expertise.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Workday Advanced Compensation and Benefits Administration.
  • Experience defining product vision, roadmap, backlog, priorities, and measurable product outcomes.
  • Hands on understanding of compensation cycles including merit, bonus, and equity processes.
  • Benefits design and administration experience, including outsourced vendor ecosystems such as Alight.
  • Ability to partner with solution engineers and architects on scalable Workday configurations.
  • Understanding of AI, automation, analytics, data governance, security, and compliance considerations.
  • Strong executive stakeholder management with the ability to balance strategy and hands on execution.
