Job Description

GM Financial offers a hybrid work environment in Fort Worth, TX with 2 days a week in the office, plus competitive pay and bonus eligibility. What you’ll do

In this Product Owner II role focused on Business Automation, you will lead discovery with business partners and turn business needs into product plans, roadmaps, and user stories for automation and AI solutions. You will own the product backlog, prioritize work by business value, risk, and effort, and guide delivery from idea through adoption while tracking whether solutions deliver expected results.

  • Lead discovery sessions with business partners to understand challenges, objectives, and requirements
  • Gather, document, and prioritize both business and technical requirements
  • Define product vision, roadmaps, and user stories for automation and AI initiatives
  • Evaluate and prioritize agentic AI and automation opportunities using business value
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and drive adoption of delivered solutions
  • Own and maintain the backlog, determining what the team works on first using business value, risk, and effort
  • Move each solution through discovery, design, delivery, and post-delivery outcome tracking
  • Keep business leaders informed by setting clear expectations and supporting adoption
  • In an Agile Scrum environment, maximize the development team’s output and help ensure product success
  • Coordinate product development while serving as a liaison between Product Management and Product Delivery teams
  • Lead backlog prioritization of initiatives and align experiences across channels and touchpoints to support strong business results

What you bring

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Product Owner/Manager on an Agile Scrum team required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or additional equivalent experience preferred
  • Agile Certification (PSPO or CSP-PO or POPM/APM) required
  • Strong understanding of Vision/Roadmap creation and Portfolio/Program/Team backlog creation, refinement, and prioritization
  • Proficiency with XML/JSON based APIs, Cloud Technologies, Service Virtualization, Test Data Management, and Data Driven Decision making
  • Working knowledge of Agile/SAFe Lean enterprise concepts and best practices
  • Experience in a matrix organization collaborating with business stakeholders, UX teams, project managers, product managers, developers, and others
  • Ability to define product roadmaps and identify requirements
  • Ability to apply Servant leader management principles and practices
  • Capability to deliver best-in-class product experiences using Design Thinking and Lean methodologies
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) plus strong cross-collaboration
  • Advanced problem solving for issue identification, analysis, and resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Persuasion and negotiation skills, plus strong presentation skills
