Product - Strategic Product Owner
Job Description
At FedEx, this hybrid role partners closely with Product Management, stakeholders, the ScrumMaster, and Agile teams to translate program priorities into well-defined user stories and clear acceptance criteria. You will help keep delivery moving by shaping the team backlog, preparing for iteration planning and program increment planning, and supporting alignment to target metrics within a SAFe environment.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to understand Features, working with the ScrumMaster and Agile Team to split them into smaller, incremental stories and iteration deliverables.
- Partner with other Product Owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize stories and determine dependencies.
- Own the team backlog, including defining stories, establishing story acceptance criteria, and leading story refinement to support iteration planning and program increment planning.
- Support requirements management and prioritization in the Product Backlog using business value ROI, alignment with Product Strategy, and resource capacity.
- Build and leverage working relationships with business and product stakeholders.
- Assist with program integration across channels with internal partners and manage program effectiveness against target metrics, communicating essential requirements information.
- Under general supervision, define and clearly articulate requirements (User Stories) and acceptance criteria (Use Cases).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related area required. Additional related experience may offset degree requirements.
- Two (2) years of experience in industry or supporting business or technologies, including Project Management experience and/or SAFe Product Manager/Owner experience. Additional related skills, education, or degree may offset experience requirements.
- Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Agile and Lean values or concepts, and experience with scaling using the SAFe framework.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex ideas, break them into smaller sequential plans, and account for interdependencies to deliver solutions.
- Solutions-based problem solving, including asking probing questions and identifying underlying issues.
- Software skills including Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Location, pay, and job conditions
Location: Memphis, TN (hybrid). This is also listed as hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location, and employees are required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week. Some travel may be required.
Pay transparency (monthly): Memphis, TN: $5,662.27/mo - $12,355.79/mo. Pittsburgh, PA: $5,960.29/mo - $13,006.09/mo.
