Senior Manager, Product Operations – Content Management & DAM
Job Description
Genentech is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Operations to lead Content Management and Digital Asset Management (DAM) operations in a way that makes enterprise content capabilities easier to adopt, run, and continuously improve. In this role, you will translate product strategy into scalable operating practices, governance, enablement, and measurable value, partnering across Product, Technology, Content, Data, Marketing, and business teams.
This onsite position supports the adoption and ongoing operation of enterprise content products, with an emphasis on operating mechanisms, lifecycle governance, enablement programs, and KPI-driven reporting. The scope includes everything from intake and roadmap coordination to launch readiness, post-launch support, and ongoing workflow improvements.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute enablement strategies for Content Management and DAM products, including onboarding, training, communications, playbooks, office hours, and adoption programs.
- Build and manage core product operating mechanisms, including intake and prioritization, roadmap coordination, release readiness, dependency tracking, issue management, stakeholder communications, and product performance reporting.
- Partner with product and business teams to improve content lifecycle management, metadata, taxonomy, asset governance, search and discovery, content reuse, and publishing workflows.
- Define scalable processes, governance, roles, and ways of working so Content Management and DAM capabilities operate effectively across teams and markets.
- Coordinate stakeholder alignment, communications, training, documentation, change-impact assessment, launch readiness, and post-launch support for new capabilities and releases.
- Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to measure product adoption, user engagement, content reuse, operational efficiency, user satisfaction, and business value.
- Build mechanisms to capture user feedback, needs, and pain points.
- Synthesize insights with Product Managers to translate findings into product enhancements and roadmap priorities.
- Work cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Content, Data, Marketing, and business teams to manage dependencies, resolve operational challenges, and drive execution against shared priorities.
- Support change tied to new content capabilities, processes, and ways of working, enabling teams to transition to new tools and workflows.
- Maintain operating procedures and enablement resources such as FAQs, release communications, playbooks, and other user support materials.
- Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, automate manual processes, improve content quality and reuse, and increase the overall effectiveness of Content Management and DAM products.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in product operations, digital product management, product enablement, content operations, digital asset management, content management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise digital products through launch, adoption, and ongoing operations.
- Experience establishing product operating models, governance, intake and prioritization processes, KPIs, and scalable ways of working.
- Strong program and stakeholder management skills, including coordination across Product, Technology, business, and operational teams.
- Experience developing and executing product enablement, training, communications, adoption, or organizational change programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn user feedback, product data, and operational insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex topics to senior stakeholders and end users.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, cross-functional environment while managing multiple priorities and dependencies.

Preferred qualifications
- Experience with enterprise DAM, CMS, or content supply chain platforms.
- Experience with platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets, Adobe Workfront, Veeva, or comparable enterprise content technologies.
- Strong understanding of metadata, taxonomy, content lifecycle management, asset governance, search and discovery, and content reuse.
- Experience defining or measuring product adoption, user engagement, operational efficiency, and business-value KPIs.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams and supporting enterprise products across multiple business units or markets.
- Experience identifying opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to simplify content operations and improve user experiences.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry is a plus.
Location and compensation
This position is based in Los Angeles, CA (onsite), with a salary range of USD 137,900 - 256,100 per year. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. (The listing also notes the expected salary range is based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA and that relocation benefits are not available.)
