Senior Product Manager
Job Description
WISEcode is building an AI-driven food intelligence platform, and it needs a Senior Product Manager to turn grocery retail and CPG opportunities into real products. In this role, you’ll take new offerings from zero to one by grounding product decisions in customer discovery, shaping lean MVPs, and partnering closely with Science, Data, and Engineering to deliver launches that customers adopt and pay for.
What you’ll do
- Own new product development for grocery retail and CPG end to end, from the first customer conversation through concept, validation, MVP, and launch.
- Run continuous discovery with retailers, CPG brands, category managers, and merchandisers to identify problems the food intelligence platform is uniquely positioned to solve, and validate willingness to pay before building.
- Define lean, testable MVPs by deciding what is in and what is out, writing requirements, and getting a first version in front of real customers quickly so learning comes from the market, not meetings.
- Translate WISEcode’s data assets (15,000 data points per product, scoring systems, and ingredient intelligence) into product experiences that grocery retailers and CPG brands will adopt and pay for.
- Lead pilot engagements with early retail and CPG partners: align internal teams on scope and timing, keep partner commitments on track, and convert pilots into repeatable products.
- Create clear, well-structured documentation, including concept briefs, specs, user stories, and decision logs, so teams can execute with shared context.
- Work day to day with Science, Data, and Engineering teams, running agile ceremonies, making prioritization calls, and helping a distributed team build the same product.
- Define success metrics and acceptance criteria for every launch, including evaluation of AI/LLM-powered features, to measure product and model quality rather than assume it.
- Support demos, RFP responses, and commercial follow-ups with prospective grocery and CPG customers, bringing market feedback back into the roadmap.
What you’ll bring
- 6+ years in product management, with software products you shipped as the PM of record.
- Required: experience building software products in grocery retail or consumer packaged goods (CPG), with an understanding of how retailers, distributors, and brands operate across category management, merchandising, private label, retail media, or brand analytics.
- Experience taking products from concept to first release and first revenue, with comfort in ambiguity and imperfect information.
- Strong customer discovery skills: structured interviews, separation of what customers say from what they will pay for, and turning qualitative input into validated problem statements.
- Technical fluency with data, APIs, and AI/LLM-based systems sufficient to scope realistically with engineering and pressure-test plans without needing to write production code.
- Ability to align scientists, engineers, executives, and external partners and drive decisions without formal authority.
- Exceptional written and facilitation skills for concept briefs, specs, and updates that make complex work accessible to sales, marketing, and executives.
- Plus: background or genuine interest in food, nutrition, or health data; curiosity and scientific literacy are a must.
What you’ll own in your first 90 days
- Complete a discovery sprint with grocery retail and CPG prospects and synthesize results into a ranked, validated set of problems worth solving.
- Define and pitch your first zero-to-one product concept, including MVP scope, success metrics, and a path to first revenue, and get it greenlit.
- Get a first pilot moving with a retail or CPG partner with clear scope, timeline, and success criteria on both sides.
