Job Description

Work Truck Solutions is building and evolving a consumer shopping experience inside a complex, multi-sided B2B marketplace. In this role, you will own a core platform area end to end, moving from problem definition through validating impact, with an emphasis on discovery, measurement, product quality, and shipping outcomes that matter across multiple customer groups.

What you’ll own

  • Strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Consumer shopping experience, including the tradeoffs required to keep the product focused.
  • Deep, first-hand understanding of dealer, upfitter, OEM, and fleet buyer workflows through customer conversations, ride-alongs, support data, and usage analytics.
  • Crisp problem definitions, specifications, and success criteria that enable engineering and design to solve effectively.
  • Metrics ownership: define, instrument, and analyze the measures that matter for your area without relying on a request queue.
  • Discovery and validation partnership with design, plus coordination with engineering on sequencing, scope, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Launch execution end to end, including enablement for sales and support, customer communication, adoption tracking, and post-release iteration.
  • Communication across the org by aligning executives, GTM teams, and customers on what is coming, what changed, and why.
  • Contribution to the broader product operating model, including discovery practices, prioritization frameworks, and how product decisions are made.

AI and ML product thinking

  • Identify where AI and ML can meaningfully improve the product, including data enrichment, search and matching, workflow automation, and decision support.
  • Scope AI and ML bets with evaluation criteria and clear failure modes, including guidance on what to build and what to avoid.
  • Define quality bars for probabilistic systems, including what “good enough” looks like, how errors surface to users, and how to monitor degradation over time.
  • Use economic judgment for inference cost, latency, and human-in-the-loop review, building a business case that holds up to those constraints.

Core qualifications

  • 6+ years of product management experience, with at least one area or product line owned end to end, including what didn’t work.
  • Experience with complex B2B or marketplace products, ideally multi-sided, where different user groups have conflicting incentives.
  • Strong discovery instincts, including the ability to separate what users ask for from what they actually need, and willingness to kill ideas based on evidence.
  • Excellent written communication that reduces ambiguity through clear specs and updates.
  • Proven ability to ship meaningful outcomes in Agile environments and operate without perfect information.
  • Data self-sufficiency: comfort writing SQL or working fluently in an analytics stack, building dashboards, and understanding your own metrics rather than outsourcing analysis.
  • Comfort with experimentation and measurement, including choosing the right metric and knowing when A/B testing is not the right tool.
  • Technical depth to discuss APIs, data models, integrations, and system constraints in a way that earns engineering trust in design review.
  • Experience with data-heavy products where data quality and structure are themselves the customer problem.
  • Experience shipping AI or ML features in production, including tradeoffs, evaluation approach, failure cases, and corrective actions.
  • Practical judgment about what current AI can and cannot do, including the ability to refuse features that add customer risk without sufficient value.
  • Ability to partner credibly with data science and ML engineering, scoping model problems and interpreting evaluations with pushback when metrics do not match user reality.
  • High ownership and low ego, with willingness to do unglamorous work when it serves customer needs.
  • Demonstrated influence without authority across engineering, design, sales, and support.
  • Preference for shipping and learning over exhaustive planning, with discipline to follow through after release.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Currently resides in CA, TX, or FL.

Location and reporting

  • Location: Remote (U.S.-based). Preference for candidates in CA, TX, and FL.
  • Department: Product
  • Reports to: Chief Product Officer

Compensation

  • Starting pay range: USD $155,000 - $172,000 per year

Technologies

  • SQL
  • APIs

Nice to have

  • Experience in automotive, dealership software, logistics, supply chain, fleet, or industrial B2B.
  • Background with catalog, taxonomy, configuration, or inventory data products.
  • Experience introducing AI capabilities into an existing product rather than building AI-native from scratch.
  • Comfort with field research outside the office, including dealerships, upfit shops, and service bays.

Benefits

  • Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the U.S. while staying connected to a collaborative team.
  • Impactful Work: Contribute to products reshaping the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Growth Opportunities: Join a rapidly growing company with opportunities for professional development.
  • Inclusive Culture: A team that values diversity, creativity, and innovation.
