Senior Product Manager, Order Management Systems

ACV Auctions is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead its Order Management Systems platform. This role focuses on ensuring orders move accurately and reliably from capture through financial settlement, while powering internal tools and event streams used across the business.

What You’ll Own

• Own the OMS platform end to end, including the financial aggregation layer that feeds NetSuite settlement and accounting, internal order management tools used by operations teammates, and event producers that notify downstream teams of completed transactions and orders.
• Serve as connective tissue between Engineering, Finance, Internal Operations, and downstream product teams consuming order and transaction events.
• Own platform SLAs for order throughput, event delivery latency, settlement accuracy, and reconciliation completeness, and hold the team accountable as though internal customers were paying customers.
• Set and defend the 6–12 month roadmap across Order Management, ERP/Settlement integration, and Event Orchestration.
• Act as domain authority for order-to-settlement, making architecture and sequencing decisions that establish precedent for OMS and the teams consuming its events.

How You’ll Drive Outcomes

• Partner with engineering and Finance to define settlement, reconciliation, and revenue recognition flows that are accurate, auditable, and aligned to financial close timing requirements.
• Partner with engineering to define event schemas, delivery guarantees, and integration contracts that upstream and downstream teams can rely on.
• Ensure data quality and reliability across the transactional layer, including idempotency, reconciliation, event replay, and recovery from upstream or downstream failure.
• Translate complex transactional workflows across order capture, settlement, and event distribution into actionable insights that drive product prioritization and unblock internal customers.
• Improve operational throughput and reduce manual work by identifying high-leverage OMS surface workflow improvements and prioritizing them alongside platform and integration investments.
• Use a hypothesis-driven approach to internal operations tooling investments, turning assumptions into a validation framework supported by structured rollouts, ops user feedback, and operational metrics.
• Guide product strategy by evaluating and clearly communicating trade-offs between system complexity, time-to-market, and operational or financial risk (for example, strict consistency vs. throughput, and generic event contracts vs. consumer-specific ones).

Collaboration and Communication

• Advocate for platform strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes to executive leadership to secure buy-in and alignment.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, technical platform initiatives from ideation through launch and iteration, focused on measurable impact for internal customers such as Finance and Operations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Product Management experience, ideally including time on a platform, financial systems, or order management product area. Auto-tech industry experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ownership of a product line or multiteam domain, with responsibility for strategy executed by other teams.
• Evidence of org-level influence, including leading a 0-to-1 or major platform re-architecture at scale.
• Experience owning order management, financial settlement, or transactional platform product areas, including ERP integration (NetSuite a strong plus), event-driven architectures, and internal operations tooling.
• Strong understanding of transactional system hygiene: idempotency, reconciliation, event delivery semantics (at-least-once vs. exactly-once), data lineage, and processes to maintain trusted, auditable financial and operational data flows.
• Demonstrated success implementing automation or system improvements that reduce manual ops effort, accelerate financial close, and improve event reliability for downstream consumers.
• Strong quantitative toolkit, including hands-on proficiency in SQL, structured rollout and validation design, and deep understanding of platform metrics architecture (throughput, latency, error rates, reconciliation accuracy).
• Cross-functional experience with engineering and non-engineering internal customers including Finance and Operations.
• Agile experience with release planning and prioritization skills.
• Presentation skills to simplify complex transactional systems and financial flows for non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven mentorship of other PMs, including setting product craft standards; formal or dotted-line people leadership is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (examples: Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, or similar). Advanced degrees are a plus.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is USD 130,000 - 160,000 per year. Final compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
