Halliburton

Senior Product Manager, Unconventional Development

Houston, TX Full time Posted 2h ago

Job Description

Halliburton’s Landmark business line is building a strategic new digital solution to help operators make better exploration, drilling, and production decisions. In this role, you will translate unconventional resource development choices into a trusted product that connects subsurface and operational inputs to forecasts, uncertainty, economics, capital allocation, and reserves discipline.

As the Senior Product Manager, Unconventional Development, you will own the product vision and the evidence needed to guide future investment decisions, working across engineering, data science, domain experts, user experience, and commercial stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Translate DSU development life cycle requirements into prioritized product features for a digital solution.
  • Link technical development alternatives to production forecasts, type curves, uncertainty, economics, capital allocation, net present value, cash flow, and reserves considerations.
  • Lead customer discovery and design-partner validation to surface high-value decisions, validate target users, test adoption interest, and challenge proposed customer value.
  • Own product vision, roadmap, and minimum viable product (MVP) priorities, including making evidence-based decisions about what not to build.
  • Partner with engineering, data science, domain experts, and user experience teams to create workflows that integrate with relevant customer tools, data, and decision processes.
  • Set expectations for explainability, auditability, data quality, forecast calibration, and explicit treatment of uncertainty.
  • Develop product positioning, pricing, and packaging hypotheses, then validate them with customers, sales, services, and other commercial stakeholders.
  • Work with sales and services to support go-to-market readiness, demonstrations, customer onboarding, product adoption, and communication of measurable business value.
  • Define and track measures of customer value, decision quality, adoption, and product performance rather than relying only on development activity or feature delivery.
  • Present product investment alternatives to the General Manager, Solution Owners, Domain Owners, and senior executives, including evidence, risks, assumptions, and tradeoffs.
  • Ensure the solution aligns with applicable application-security requirements by partnering with technical and security stakeholders and monitoring relevant security metrics.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry, including product-management experience.
  • Hands-on experience with unconventional resource development, including evaluating integrated asset-development scenarios rather than optimizing a single well or discipline in isolation.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing DSU-level or comparable asset-development decisions across subsurface, drilling, completions, production, economics, capital planning, and/or reserves.
  • Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, business cases, investment recommendations, or commercialization plans for technology-oriented products or solutions.
  • Ability to lead across technical, commercial, operational, and executive stakeholder groups without relying solely on formal authority.
