Job Description

Based in San Francisco, CA with a hybrid work model, this Senior Lead Product Manager is responsible for defining the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle capabilities for product and engineering tooling, with a dedicated focus on Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Atlassian, and related tooling within the Technology Operations team. The role builds cross-functional alignment to deliver user-centered, scalable, and secure outcomes for enterprise development lifecycle tooling. Salary ranges from USD 150,000 to 240,000 per year.

Role Overview

The position guides the end-to-end development of lifecycle tooling that supports product and engineering workflows, leveraging Atlassian products to enable efficient discovery, requirements, design, configuration, testing, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement. It emphasizes strong stakeholder collaboration, security, and governance while driving value across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for lifecycle capabilities, aligning priorities with business goals, user needs, risk considerations, and operational objectives.
  • Own and evolve the backlog for Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and related workflow capabilities, prioritizing work by business value, scalability, user experience, and enterprise impact.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle across discovery, requirements, design, configuration, testing, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Product Management and business lines to establish a cohesive, scalable approach to product development lifecycle tooling across the enterprise.
  • Articulate the voice of the user and stakeholders, translating feedback into clear opportunities, enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and external vendors to deliver new features, integrations, automations, and platform enhancements.
  • Define and document product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional expectations to support high-quality execution.
  • Configure and optimize core Jira and Jira Product Discovery capabilities, including workflows, templates, issue types, views, and automations.
  • Ensure systems and tools are well integrated across the enterprise through APIs, middleware, data pipelines, and related workflow technologies.
  • Drive rigorous testing practices, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing to support production-grade quality and data integrity.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and visibility into operational and product performance to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate adoption, engagement, efficiency, and satisfaction as success measures.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and resolve competing priorities by communicating direction, trade-offs, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
  • Lead change management for tooling and workflow enhancements, including communication, enablement, training, and adoption support.
  • Leverage market trends, platform capabilities, and AI-enabled opportunities to improve workflows and user outcomes where practical.
  • Embed risk, security, control, and compliance considerations into product design and delivery to protect systems and data.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Typically 10 years of experience or a portfolio demonstrating the scope of experience required for product management, technical product management, business systems product ownership, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience owning strategy and delivery for complex products, platforms, enterprise applications, or workflow capabilities.
  • Experience leading cross-functional product initiatives involving product, engineering, operations, compliance, legal, risk, and other stakeholders.
  • Deep functional expertise with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Jira Product Discovery, with the ability to translate business needs into configuration and platform improvements.
  • Ability to define product vision, roadmap, backlog, requirements, and success measures for complex business or technical capabilities.
  • Strong product management fundamentals, including discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, user story writing, and iterative delivery.
  • Strong technical fluency with APIs, integrations, data flows, system dependencies, and enterprise application environments.
  • Experience driving adoption and continuous improvement through stakeholder engagement, training, communication, and change enablement.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills supported by the use of data and insights to prioritize opportunities and measure impact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and align competing priorities.
  • Experience operating in regulated environments and incorporating risk, governance, security, and compliance into delivery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Early Warning operates in a collaborative office environment. The role is primarily sedentary with extensive computer use and periods of sitting. Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and/or exert negligible force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity.
