Sr. Product Manager (Food)
Job Description
The Sr. Product Manager (Food) role at Cesna Recruitment is responsible for shaping and executing a strategic product and category plan. You will lead new product development and imports, oversee product lifecycles, and manage product/category performance against marketing and P&L targets in a CPG food-focused environment.
Strategic Product and Category Planning
- Develop and maintain a strategic 3-year plan to drive product/category growth and profitability through innovation and product conversions.
- Set product direction by monitoring and analyzing sales volumes, market share trends, and competitive activities, using consumer and product insights.
- Perform product-specific analyses and recommend new products and features to support the product pipeline and company strategy.
P&L Ownership by Category and Channel
- Set and manage P&L targets by categories and channels.
New Product Development and Imports
- Lead development for NPD and imports from HQ from conception through execution.
- Own key commercialization elements including pricing, positioning, regulatory labeling, and packaging.
- Coordinate cross-functional progress to ensure the organization is set up to support development and the broader product/category strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including SCM, Operations, and R&D.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Manage product lifecycle activities, including product improvements and SKU rationalization.
Product Marketing Execution
- Develop product marketing plans and strategies to communicate with consumers.
- Execute marketing projects such as packaging development, ad development, digital marketing, and social media programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams and outside agencies.
- Develop marketing and sales collaterals including sell sheets and brochures.
- Build an annual marketing budget and deliver marketing activities within budget.
Consumer Research, Data, and Market Monitoring
- Determine consumer research and data requirements and conduct marketing research.
- Track market and competitive trends to remain aligned with category developments.
Vendor and Partner Support
- Assist with management of external vendors and partners as appropriate, including advertising, PR, and market research agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or Business Administration.
- MBA is a plus.
- Passion for food is a must.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in brand or product innovation marketing, with CPG experience required (preferably food industry).
- 8+ years of B2C or B2B experience with basic P&L knowledge.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, including experience with IRI, Nielsen, and Spins.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation ability.
- Ability to accomplish tasks on time and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel.
- Bilingual in Korean preferred.
