Assistant Director Product Owner - Pharmacy

Cambia Health Solutions offers a hybrid role based in Fargo, ND, with work from home options for most roles. In this position, you will lead product strategy and delivery for Pharmacy capabilities while collaborating with clinical, technology, analytics, finance, and external PBM and vendor partners to improve outcomes for members and the business.

This is an Assistant Director Product Owner - Pharmacy opportunity with a salary range of USD 127,000 - 231,000 per year. You will guide teams, manage complex dependencies, and use measurable performance signals to drive continuous improvement across strategy, roadmap execution, and readiness activities.

What you’ll do

• Own Pharmacy product strategy and roadmap, aligning priorities to member needs, affordability, clinical outcomes, regulatory requirements, and enterprise goals
• Lead and develop Product Owners and team members, setting clear accountability for outcomes, priorities, and delivery
• Partner with pharmacy, business, and technology leaders to translate strategic and operational needs into prioritized capabilities, requirements, and executable work
• Oversee operational, benefit, process, data, integration, vendor, and systems changes needed to support evolving Pharmacy capabilities
• Coordinate complex PBM and vendor dependencies, aligning integrations, implementation activities, and operational readiness across teams
• Use financial, utilization, quality, member, and operational measures to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement
• Drive end-to-end readiness for pharmacy capabilities, including testing, implementation, regulatory readiness, issue resolution, and post-production stabilization
• Manage strategic vendor relationships to ensure partner capabilities, performance, contractual commitments, and roadmaps remain aligned to business needs

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, clinical discipline, finance, or a related field
• Advanced degree preferred
• 6+ years of experience in product management, health plan operations, healthcare, insurance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy benefits, PBM operations, formulary or benefit administration, pharmacy clinical programs, or related health plan workflows
• Proven ability to translate pharmacy, clinical, operational, and regulatory needs into product strategy, roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and measurable outcomes
• Experience leading cross-functional work across Pharmacy, Clinical Operations, Technology, Product, Analytics, Finance, and vendor partners
• Strong understanding of pharmacy benefit capabilities, data and system integrations, member and provider workflows, and vendor dependencies
• Business acumen using financial, utilization, quality, member, and operational measures to guide prioritization and investment decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging senior leadership and stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory, operational, vendor, and technology dependencies while creating clarity and driving decisions
• Demonstrated success managing strategic relationships with PBMs, pharmacy vendors, or other external partners
• Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, analytics, clinical workflows, or decision-making is highly desired
