Assistant Director Product Owner - Payment Integrity
Job Description
Cambia Health Solutions is building safer, more accurate health care payment experiences, and this role helps lead the product work that strengthens both pre- and post-payment controls. You will guide strategy, roadmap, and delivery for Payment Integrity capabilities while partnering across business, technology, analytics, and external vendors. The position also supports a hybrid work setup in Salt Lake City, UT.
As Assistant Director Product Owner, you will lead a team (3-5 direct reports), create accountability for outcomes, and turn complex operational and technical needs into measurable improvements in payment accuracy. You will also contribute to a leadership community focused on helping people flourish.
What You’ll Do
- Own Payment Integrity product strategy and roadmap, aligning priorities to enterprise goals, medical expense reduction opportunities, regulatory requirements, and operational needs
- Lead and develop Product Owners and team members, establishing clear accountability for outcomes, priorities, and delivery
- Partner with business and technology leaders to translate payment integrity opportunities into prioritized capabilities, requirements, and executable work
- Oversee operational, process, data, vendor, and systems changes needed to support evolving Payment Integrity capabilities
- Use financial, quality, operational, and vendor performance measures to evaluate results, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions
- Drive end-to-end readiness across claims editing and payment integrity workflows, including testing, implementation, issue resolution, and post-production stabilization
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring vendor capabilities, integrations, performance, and roadmaps align with business needs
- Identify risks, dependencies, capacity constraints, and trade-offs early, bringing forward clear options and recommendations for decisions
- Provide direction as part of the leadership community by engaging your team toward shared goals and a positive employee experience
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, clinical discipline, finance, or a related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- 6 years of experience in product management, health plan operations, healthcare, insurance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong knowledge of health plan claims, payment integrity, reimbursement, and pre- and post-payment workflows or related health plan operations
- Proven ability to translate complex operational and technical needs into product strategy, roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and measurable outcomes
- Experience leading cross-functional work across Claims, Operations, Technology, Analytics, Finance, and vendor partners
- Business acumen using data, financial impact, quality measures, and operational performance to guide prioritization and investment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage senior leadership and stakeholders
- Skill in navigating complex issues, dependencies, and trade-offs while creating clarity and driving decisions
- Demonstrated success managing strategic relationships with external partners and vendors
- Claims editing, payment policy, coding, reimbursement, audit, or payment integrity technology experience strongly preferred
- Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, quality, analytics, or decision-making highly desired
Compensation
Salary range: USD 127,000 - 231,000 per year (hybrid, Salt Lake City, UT). Bonus target is included per national/regional structures.
National pay structure (applies to Boise and Lewiston, ID; Salt Lake City, UT; Oregon and Washington): full salary range $141,000 - $231,000 with 20% bonus target; expected range $150,500 - $203,600.
Regional pay structure (applies to North Dakota and Idaho and Utah locations outside the metro areas listed above): full salary range $127,000 - $208,000 with 20% bonus target; expected range $135,400 - $183,200.
