Job Description

The Assistant Director Product Owner for Care Management will help shape and deliver product capabilities that strengthen care-management workflows and outcomes. This hybrid leadership role partners with clinical, technology, analytics, provider, and vendor teams to execute a focused strategy and roadmap.

Role Overview

In this position, you will own the Care Management product strategy and roadmap, guiding priorities across clinical outcomes, member experience, operational performance, regulatory requirements, and enterprise goals. You will lead Product Owners and collaborate across functions to translate care-management needs into prioritized capabilities and executable work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Care Management product strategy and roadmap, aligning priorities to clinical outcomes, member experience, operational performance, regulatory requirements, and enterprise goals
  • Lead and develop Product Owners and team members, establishing clear accountability for outcomes, priorities, and delivery
  • Partner with clinical and technology leaders to translate care-management needs into prioritized capabilities, requirements, and actionable delivery
  • Oversee operational, workflow, data, integration, vendor, and systems changes needed to support evolving Care Management capabilities
  • Advance connected clinical workflows and data capabilities to improve care coordination, visibility, and experience for members and clinical teams
  • Use clinical, quality, member, operational, and financial measures to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement
  • Drive end-to-end readiness for new capabilities, including testing, implementation, change readiness, issue resolution, and post-production stabilization
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring vendor capabilities, integrations, performance, and roadmaps align with clinical and business needs
  • Provide direction to the team, align work toward shared goals, and support a positive experience that helps people flourish

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration, clinical discipline, finance, or related field
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 6 years of experience in product management, health plan operations, healthcare, insurance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of care management, case management, population health, clinical operations, or related health plan workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to translate clinical and operational needs into product strategy, roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and measurable outcomes
  • Experience leading cross-functional work across Clinical Operations, Technology, Analytics, Provider, Customer Service, and vendor partners
  • Strong understanding of member-centered workflows, clinical data, interoperability, care coordination, and health plan technology capabilities
  • Strong business acumen using clinical, operational, quality, member, and financial measures to guide prioritization and investment decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience engaging senior leadership, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Ability to navigate complex issues, dependencies, and trade-offs while creating clarity and driving decisions
  • Demonstrated success managing strategic relationships with external partners and vendors
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance clinical workflows, productivity, quality, or decision-making highly desired

Team Leadership

  • FTES supervised: 3-5

Compensation and Location

  • Location: Salt Lake City, UT (hybrid)
  • Salary: USD 127,000 - 231,000 per year
