Job Description

USAA is building high-performing teams to improve the way banking products deliver value to members. As a Bank Agile Product Owner Sr, you will work with the Bank agile team to prioritize the backlog, support delivery of business outcomes, and ensure the voice of the end-user is reflected in day-to-day planning and execution across a multi-team environment.

This hybrid role supports locations including San Antonio, TX; Charlotte, NC; Colorado Springs, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Plano, TX; and Tampa, FL. You will partner closely with leadership and team-of-teams partners to translate strategy into a usable product vision, drive OKR delivery, and remove impediments that block progress.

What you’ll do

  • Communicate and drive the vision and strategy to key stakeholders and Bank agile team members.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine business needs and help ensure delivery of quality product and member experience solutions.
  • Work with the Team-of-Teams Lead to clarify and align on business strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Translate strategy into a clear vision that guides the Bank agile team’s backlog creation and prioritization.
  • Partner with the Team-of-Teams Lead to define and communicate acceptance criteria tied to business requirements and customer needs.
  • Make data-driven decisions, including allocating funds and developing and tracking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that support Bank product success.
  • Deliver against Bank agile team level OKRs.
  • Act as the voice of the end-user by proactively seeking customer feedback and incorporating it into how requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Own the Bank agile team backlog, including grooming, prioritization, and refinement.
  • Maintain a groomed backlog of user stories and work with the agile team to estimate story size and complexity.
  • Optimize flow of value through a multi-team Agile environment, progressing toward objectives while removing impediments, resolving conflicts, and managing risks and issues.
  • Provide service to the team’s needs by offering feedback on work in progress, clarifying requirements, anticipating and removing roadblocks, and answering questions.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across team processes and recommend changes to leadership.
  • May lead functional Bank agile teams or projects with moderate resource needs, risk, and complexity.
  • Ensure risks tied to business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 6 years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business or requirements analysis, or directly related to supported business operations or product line.
  • Knowledge of multiple software delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and SAFe.
  • Advanced experience analyzing business requirements, process flows, and use cases to streamline processes in line with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of applicable banking, regulatory, and compliance policies, including applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and negotiate to adopt a different point of view.

Compensation

$103,450 - $186,210 per year (based on experience and qualifications).

  • In-office expectation: 4 days per week from a regional office (San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Tampa, FL; Plano Legacy, TX; or Charlotte, NC)
