Group Product Manager II - Agile
Job Description
Charlotte-based, onsite role leading marketing platform product strategy and delivery across Truist. You’ll guide teams through roadmap planning, backlog execution, and cross-functional rollout, with accountability for client experience, results, and KPIs. The position also involves coordinating with Agile technology teams and partners across Legal, Risk, and Compliance to support commercialization and integrated experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners, setting direction and priorities for products, services, and experiences for different client groups across the organization.
- Apply insight from the industry landscape, competitive environment, and voice of client to shape product direction.
- Develop product roadmaps in collaboration with Relationship Managers and Line of Business (LOB) partners.
- Manage teams that build and groom backlog from EPICS down to user stories, partnering with User Experience/User Interface, Content, Technology, and Operations.
- Partner with Tech Agile teams on development, rollout, and post-production support.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance on new product development and remediation when applicable.
- Work with LOB, marketing, operations, and readiness teams on commercialization and rollout.
- Own client experience/results/KPIs for assigned platforms.
- Manage product pricing, including modeling pricing changes.
- Own annual budget activities, including monthly forecasting.
- Hire, mentor, and manage team members, providing timely, candid, and constructive feedback to build talent bench strength and support succession planning.
- Lead teams across related but distinct functions to support successful deployment of new products and integrated experiences.
Requirements
- 15+ years in a combination of professional services and financial services industry.
- 7+ years of product management experience.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Deep and broad experience in digital banking, financial services, or other complex transactional services.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and large-scale projects.
- Demonstrable understanding and application of digital concepts and technology.
- Ability to lead initiatives across the software development lifecycle, including post-implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; banking or financial management education or equivalent education and related training.
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, and focus on relevant facts.
- Proven experience managing a varied team of professionals in a project-based environment; ability to coach and develop a team.
- Outstanding skills presenting and communicating ideas and data to executive-level leaders.
- Sound business judgment and ability to build a business case around a product or service.
- Expert relationship builder who can work effectively across the matrix and earn credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
- High adaptability in response to change, ambiguity, adversity, and other work pressures.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years working with enterprise marketing technology ecosystems, including content management systems, customer data platforms, personalization/engagement tools, and marketing analytics solutions.
- 2 to 5 years in financial services or another highly regulated industry (for example, healthcare, insurance, telecommunications).
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives such as platform integrations, marketing technology modernization, or digital transformation programs.
- Experience applying and scaling Agile product management practices across multiple teams, platforms, or value streams.
- Ability to define product strategy, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver customer-centric marketing capabilities that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience evaluating, adopting, or scaling AI platforms and AI-enabled capabilities to accelerate delivery, improve operational efficiency, and support scalable marketing technology and digital experience outcomes.
