Job Description

The Principal Product Manager will lead Discovery and Activation for Adobe Express, owning strategy, quarterly roadmaps, measurement, experimentation, and cross-functional leadership to drive activation and long-term retention. This onsite role is based in San Jose, CA, with a yearly salary range of USD 148,100 to 282,100, and requires at least 10 years of product management experience, including a minimum of 3 years focused on Discovery/Activation, Growth, or Core UX for a scaled product.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and govern a quarterly roadmap for a major Activation workstream, coordinating design, engineering, research, and other cross-functional teammates.
  • Define leading and lagging indicators to guide performance measurement.
  • Design and execute A/B experiments with clear hypotheses, driving these initiatives to completion.
  • Establish a principled experimentation framework for both Enterprise and Consumer segments, balancing velocity with change-management needs.
  • Collaborate with Content Operations to improve taxonomy and metadata quality, boosting discovery relevance.
  • Coordinate with SEO, Growth Marketing, Partnerships, and PMM on end-to-end funnels from acquisition through activation to retention, including entry points for assistants and LLM-driven experiences.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years in Product Management, with at least three years directing Discovery/Activation, Growth, or Core UX for a scalable product.
  • Proven success modernizing Home and Search, template/catalog discovery, or onboarding/activation flows in a product-led growth or prosumer/creative context.
  • Strong analytics foundation in funnel analytics and causal inference basics; ability to define leading indicators that predict lagging metrics.
  • Sharp product sense for progressive disclosure, guided creation, and task-led journeys, paired with crisp prioritization and trade-off decisions.
  • Experience partnering with Design/Research, Content/SEO, and Data Science; comfortable with taxonomy, metadata, and retrieval quality.
  • Enterprise empathy: able to balance rapid iteration with stability, change-management, and training needs for large customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of setting a shared vision, authoring clear PRDs, and aligning executives and cross-functional partners.

Technologies

  • LLMs

How You Will Work

  • Customer back: begin with real tasks such as a flyer, video, or social post, rather than starting from features.
  • System first: build reusable primitives (recipes, prompts, deep links, metadata) that improve multiple surfaces at once.
  • Measure to learn: establish clear hypotheses, holdouts, and readouts; maintain durable dashboards for ongoing decisions.
  • Bias to impact: deliver increments weekly and achieve major milestones quarterly.

AI Use Guidelines for Interviews

  • Our interviews are designed to reflect your own skills and thinking. The use of AI or recording tools during live interviews is not permitted unless explicitly invited by the interviewer or approved in advance as part of a reasonable accommodation.
  • If these tools are used inappropriately or in a way that misrepresents your work, your application may not move forward in the process.
  • At Adobe, we empower employees to innovate with AI and look for candidates who share that mindset. We provide clear guidance on where AI is encouraged during the process and where it is restricted during live interviews. See how we think about AI in the hiring experience.
