Principal, Product Owner, Business Performance
Job Description
The Principal Product Owner for Business Performance leads the strategic delivery of the ED&A data platform portfolio and AI-enabled experiences. This role defines standards and roadmaps while engaging senior leadership to advance data initiatives, with a hybrid work arrangement based in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the strategy for the Business Performance and Finance portfolio, shaping the enterprise data capability roadmap in alignment with the company AI-forward direction.
- Drive the most complex technical transitions across the enterprise, coordinating dependencies to enable organization-wide change.
- Establish standardized product management practices to reinforce ownership and technical excellence across the product organization.
- Design high-impact engagement plans for senior leadership to secure enduring sponsorship for data initiatives.
- Lead AI adoption by outlining the blueprint for integrating AI tools such as Gemini and Sana into enterprise product management processes.
Requirements
- 12+ years of technical product management experience, specifically in Enterprise Data & Analytics.
- 10+ years of managing suites of interrelated data or platform products at an enterprise level.
- 10+ years of experience influencing VP and SVP level stakeholders to drive organizational pivots.
- Subject matter expertise in Finance & Accounting workflows such as Quote/Order to Cash (QTC/OTC) and delivering Executive-level reporting across the enterprise.
- Deep understanding of the Snowflake, dbt, Atlan, and Sigma stack, with a focus on scaling AI innovation.
- Ability to navigate high-pressure political and technical landscapes to drive strategic consensus.
- Insight on how AI multiplies the impact of the ED&A organization and lead by example in AI adoption.

In 2024, Workday launched the Enterprise Data and Analytics ED&A team with a mission to transform and optimize how Workday creates and shares trusted data. The goal is to drive actionable insights and data-led innovation across the enterprise.
About the Role
As a Principal Product Manager, you own the strategic delivery of a mission-critical product portfolio within ED&A, and you are accountable for the long-term success of Workday’s data platform and the delivery of AI-enabled experiences.
You define the standards for applying Data Product and Active Data Governance methodologies at scale across the organization.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Pay ranges vary by location. As part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography.
- Primary Location Base Pay Range: $176,000 USD - $264,000 USD
- Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $167,200 USD - $294,000 USD
