Product Manager
Job Description
Product Manager role at LatchBio focused on translating scientist and operations needs into shipped product outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Be the voice of our scientists: meet with dozens of scientists each week, identify where their work gets harder than it should be, and convert findings into clear engineering priorities.
- Be the voice of operations: learn challenges firsthand (progress tracking, staffing projects, understanding what each project needs) and prioritize features that make day-to-day work easier.
- Own outcomes, not only features: define the metrics that matter, partner with engineering to move them forward, and frame work by impact so the team invests effort where it counts most.
Requirements
- Obsession with user experience.
- Design taste and prototyping as a baseline: create flow mockups in Figma and use AI tools like Claude (expected, not a bonus).
- Willingness to get into the weeds and strategic prioritization: understand how people actually work, then step back to find the biggest pain points and focus the team on the highest-impact areas.
- Education: undergraduate background in biology is sufficient (no need to be a scientist).
On-site details
- Location: United States (onsite), based in San Francisco.
- Team meetings on Mondays and Fridays, with ad hoc sessions as needed.
- No tracking of arrival or departure times; unlimited PTO.
- Primary success criteria: projects ship well and on time.
Reporting and role focus
- Reports to Chief Product Officer Hannah Le.
- Science team has grown past 100 people; they are the main users of the platform.
- Turn what scientists and operations need into clear priorities, and ensure the product improves how they work.
