Product Manager, Platform

HUD is building infrastructure for creating RL training data and evals for frontier AI agents, along with a marketplace where frontier labs can purchase those assets through the HUD marketplace. In this hybrid role in San Francisco, you will lead product work for the data marketplace end to end, improving how vendors bring offerings to market and how research teams discover, evaluate, and access what they need.

You’ll own the marketplace product lifecycle and partner closely with engineering, research, GTM, and operations to convert complex requirements and largely manual workflows into dependable platform experiences. A central focus will be strengthening marketplace health by measuring adoption and user experience, then using feedback and product data to decide what to build next.

What you’ll do

• Own the marketplace product lifecycle, from understanding vendor and buyer needs through prioritization, launch, and iteration
• Improve vendor onboarding, submission workflows, quality feedback understanding, and how vendors manage their offerings on HUD
• Enhance how research teams discover, assess, and access environments and training data aligned to their needs
• Collaborate with engineering, research, GTM, and operations to turn complex requirements and manual processes into reliable platform workflows
• Define and track measures of marketplace health, product adoption, and user experience, using feedback and product data to determine next builds

What you bring

• Experience owning a live software product from discovery through launch and iteration
• Strong product judgment, with the ability to simplify technically complex workflows for users
• Experience speaking directly with users, uncovering the underlying problem behind requests, and translating learning into clear priorities
• Ability to balance user needs, business impact, and engineering constraints in product decisions
• Comfort using qualitative feedback and quantitative signals to assess whether a change worked
• Clear written communication and the ability to align engineers and other partners around decisions in an ambiguous environment

Team and logistics

• Full-time role
• Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid). Offices are in San Francisco or Singapore; remote candidates are considered if they can work hours with 70-80% overlap with either time zone
• Visa sponsorship support for relocation and visas for strong full-time candidates to the US or Singapore
• Application timeline: rolling. Process includes 2 technical interviews and a 2-3 day work trial

Additional context

HUD’s team is about ~25 people currently, mostly full-time in-person with some remote. The company is scaling profitably and quickly to meet strong demand, with 8 figures in funding. The team includes International Olympiad medalists (IOI, ILO, IPhO), serial AI startup founders, and researchers with publications at ICLR and NeurIPS.
