Product Manager

Bottomline is hiring a delivery-focused Product Manager to support the Business Payments Network team. In this role, you will help evolve Paymode across fraud prevention, security, and compliance, turning roadmap intent into clear, executable product work.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Security/CISO, and Network Operations, you will use data and automation to improve decision-making and reduce manual effort. You will also communicate progress, priorities, dependencies, and challenges across technical and senior stakeholder groups.

What you’ll do

• Translate product priorities and roadmap initiatives into actionable delivery work for development teams, guiding outcomes through the full product development lifecycle.
• Write clear business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that specify the outcome needed while avoiding unnecessary prescription of technical solutions.
• Partner with development teams on sprint planning, requirements clarification, status discussions, and execution against agreed priorities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Security/CISO, Network Operations, and others to balance business, customer, security, and compliance needs.
• Identify opportunities to apply data and automation to improve decision-making, reduce manual processes, and strengthen fraud and compliance capabilities.
• Bring curiosity to established ways of working and encourage improved approaches within required security, legal, and regulatory guardrails.
• Shape product design and user experience to promote compliant behaviors without creating avoidable friction for customers.
• Represent Product with both engineering teams and senior stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, priorities, dependencies, and challenges.
• Develop your understanding of fraud, security, risk, and compliance in B2B payments, collaborating with internal specialists when deeper interpretation is needed.
• Support evaluation of internal capabilities and third-party solutions based on business need, effectiveness, scalability, and fit within the product ecosystem.

What you’ll bring

• Experience in Product Management, Product Owner, or a closely related role within a SaaS, software, or technology environment.
• Ability to translate business problems and outcomes into requirements, user stories, and executable work for development teams.
• Confidence collaborating directly with software development teams in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Jira is highly valuable, as the team operates in Jira.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• An adaptable, collaborative approach across multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder groups rather than working within a narrow product silo.
• An outcomes-first mindset that supports engineering teams in deciding best-fit architecture and implementation.
• Curiosity about how data and automation can improve products, processes, and decision-making.
• Confidence to challenge established processes constructively and explore new problem-solving approaches.
• Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, fraud, security, risk, or compliance is advantageous, but deep regulatory expertise is not required.
