Product Manager (Automation)
Job Description
Steris seeks a Product Manager for Automation to define the strategy, roadmap, and commercialization of healthcare automation solutions that integrate hardware and software, including robotics and intelligent workflow systems. This role is based in Mentor, Ohio with a hybrid work schedule and offers an annual compensation range of USD 107,525 to 139,150. A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of product management or related experience are required.
Responsibilities
- Develop global marketing strategies and tactical plans for the designated product line aligned with business unit goals to drive revenue, margins, and market share while strengthening market leadership.
- Partner with sales and marketing leadership on action plans and launches, including forecasting, business case development, market potential assessment, target share, value proposition creation, competitive analysis, market trends, pricing, lifecycle planning, and training.
- Establish a detailed strategic road map for product and business development in line with the overarching strategic plan.
- Craft the marketing plan and evaluate the strength and sustainability of strategic choices for the assigned product line.
- Bring products to market through strategic marketing, communications, promotions, training, and other effective methods to support the value proposition and future brand growth.
- Foster strong two-way relationships with sales management to ensure aligned marketing and sales planning.
- Collaborate with the marketing communications team to develop compelling product collateral and promotional materials.
- Work with training specialists to create sales training materials and customer presentations, and deliver training as required.
- Apply rigorous analyses of market trends, segment sizes, growth opportunities, competitive landscape, feasibility, profitability, product positioning, and customer insights to inform decisions.
- Collect data and evidence to strengthen value propositions and inform strategy.
- Glean insights across markets to identify commonalities and develop archetypes.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to gather critical information and navigate challenges with customers, R&D, sales, quality, regulatory, finance, and operations teams.
- Lead the creation and refinement of product positioning and sustain positioning for products and brands.
- Recommend tactical initiatives that leverage unique customer segments to establish a competitive advantage.
- Prioritize new product developments and lifecycle enhancements across products and markets to maximize portfolio value.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years in product management, product marketing, or related business roles.
- Experience developing and executing product strategies, business cases, and roadmaps.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, approximately 25% of the time.

Location
The position is based in Mentor, Ohio, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring on-site presence three days per week.
