Product Manager – Data Center Thermal Management
Job Description
Own product strategy and lifecycle execution for data center liquid cooling and thermal management solutions in a hybrid role in Pennsylvania or Milwaukee.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle and business results for an assigned product line.
- Build product roadmaps and strategic business plans, prioritizing actions that drive growth.
- Lead strategy within the area of influence with focus on business and profit growth.
- Manage legacy products, services, and offerings while developing innovative solutions and business models.
- Drive product profitability and pursue positive financial results.
- Collect and analyze economic, financial, market, and industry information, including market share, ROI, IRR, and NPV.
- Apply pricing strategies aligned to broader business strategy, assessing pricing impacts and supporting customer segmentation, win-loss, and price-realization analysis.
- Maintain a competitive database of products, services, and offerings.
- Translate value propositions into business cases that support growth.
- Provide application information to Marketing to support collateral development and help establish industry relationships.
- Support channel partners and build relationships with key customers.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach to product, service, and offering management.
- Communicate findings and implications clearly, explaining why information matters and driving resulting actions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support key business projects and programs, ensuring alignment on scope, objectives, schedule, and budget.
- Support development of project and program budgets.
Product scope
- Expand liquid cooling platforms for data centers, including CDUs, modular liquid cooling platforms, sidecars, Secondary Fluid Networks (SFNs), manifolds, and the broader end-to-end liquid cooling portfolio.
- Lead strategy, development, and lifecycle management for liquid cooling platform products and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10 years of professional experience, including 2 to 3 years in product, service, or offering management.
- Experience providing direction and leadership to highly educated engineering teams.
- Experience partnering with Sales and business leadership, presenting product performance, cost, pricing, competitive benchmarking, and market trend analyses to influence strategic decisions.
- Ability to gather and analyze economic, financial, market, and industry information.
- Ability to take calculated risks using facts, data, and scenario-planning tools.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and results-driven, customer-focused approach.
- Strong written, editing, and presentation skills to explain complex issues succinctly, logically, and persuasively.
- Ability to travel.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA or another graduate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Strong understanding of data center design, operations, and advanced thermal management technologies.
- High-level understanding of market trends in the data center or a related industry.
- Experience engaging with customers, gathering voice-of-customer insights, and managing complex customer issues.
- Strong VOC capabilities, turning customer experiences into implications for new product introductions, trade-offs, and growth opportunities.
- Understanding of strategic and market levers used to build successful growth plans.
- Ability to understand and implement transactional pricing recommendations.
- Basic understanding of value pricing and value-capture models.
- Basic understanding of budgeting and key financial indicators, including ROI, IRR, and NPV.
- Ability to follow established guidelines and processes, including capital requests.
- Basic understanding of business models such as subscriptions, product or service delivery, and distribution.
- Working knowledge of the industries and applications supported by the product, service, or offering.
- Understanding that strategy is ongoing rather than a one-time event.
- Ability to prioritize the actions that matter most in business and strategic planning, including the ability to say no when appropriate.
Work location
- Hybrid position based in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Expected to work from the office at least three days per week.
- Candidates must live within commuting distance of one of these locations or be willing to relocate.
Compensation and benefits
- Hiring salary range: $125,000.00–$160,000.00 USD annually.
- Salary determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; internal equity; and alignment with market data.
