Product Manager, Internal Tools & Data Systems
Job Description
PlaneSense, Inc. is seeking a Product Manager to lead internal tools that improve scheduling, operations, maintenance, sales, and flight crew workflows.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a product vision and long-term roadmap for internal tools aligned to company-wide efficiency and data goals
- Find opportunities to reduce friction across scheduling, operations, maintenance, and other business functions through better internal systems
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for internal tools as a consistent, repeatable practice rather than one-off efforts
- Set up lightweight discovery and delivery rituals the team can sustain and evolve as the portfolio and organization grow
- Run working sessions with internal stakeholders (ops, crew, sales, finance, maintenance) to map workflows, pain points, and data gaps
- Investigate problems with curiosity to uncover root causes and propose thoughtful, creative solutions
- Evaluate how peer companies and adjacent industries tackle similar operational and data challenges
- Translate research into clear requirements, user stories, and specifications for engineering and design teams
- Prioritize a roadmap that balances short-term efficiency wins with longer-term data infrastructure investments
- Partner daily with engineering, design, and internal business stakeholders to support smooth delivery and adoption
- Lead meetings that progress work: set agendas, keep discussions on time, and drive decisions instead of open-ended conversation
- Actively solicit input from quieter or less vocal stakeholders to ensure decisions reflect the full picture
- Track and communicate multiple concurrent workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines
- Maintain organized documentation of decisions, requirements, and feedback between meetings
Requirements
- 5+ years of applicable experience in managing workflows and lifecycle management
- At least 2+ years of Product Management experience, ideally including internal tools, operations/efficiency products, or B2B systems
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven ability to run effective meetings: set agendas, manage time, incorporate input from quiet contributors, and focus groups on outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership; comfortable partnering with both technical and non-technical teams
- Natural curiosity, comfort challenging assumptions, and ability to generate creative solutions
- Hands-on knowledge of the full product management lifecycle with demonstrated end-to-end delivery on real products
- Practical working knowledge of modern continuous discovery methods, with judgment to right-size them for the team and problem
- Comfort working in Agile and Scrum environments alongside engineering and design
