Job Description

Jenni Kayne is seeking a Product Operations & Logistics Manager based in Los Angeles to ensure products move smoothly from formula testing through fulfillment. This role bridges Product Development and Operations by coordinating 3PL performance, inbound and outbound logistics, testing scheduling and documentation, and the master project timeline across multiple deadline-driven workstreams.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the 3PL partner, managing issues across receiving, storage, pick/pack, and fulfillment through resolution.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by coordinating cycle counts, reconciling 3PL inventory against NetSuite, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor 3PL service levels (receiving turnaround, order accuracy, and ship times), reporting trends and recurring issues.
  • Review and reconcile 3PL invoices, flagging billing errors and unexpected charges.
  • Handle disposal and write-off paperwork for components and finished goods, and manage cross-vendor transfer records in partnership with Operations.
  • Schedule and track inbound freight from contract manufacturers and component suppliers to the 3PL, including PO and ASN (Advance Ship Notice) communication.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments to retailers and wholesalers, including routing requests and compliance with retailer shipping and routing guides.
  • Source and compare freight options by requesting quotes from carriers and brokers, and booking LTL, FTL, and parcel shipments.
  • Maintain key shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, proof of delivery) and manage freight claims for damaged or lost goods.
  • Coordinate product, sample, and MOS (Master Order Specification) send-outs to vendors and key partners.
  • Request quotes and schedule testing with the external safety testing facility for new and reformulated products.
  • Track testing status against project timelines, keeping NPD informed of results and any delays affecting launch dates.
  • Manage lab sample requests and ship samples to testing facilities and internal teams.
  • Maintain the file-of-record for test quotes, results, and submissions with the external safety testing facility.
  • Support innovation testing by managing sample distribution and compiling usage and feedback results.
  • Own Monday.com boards for NPD, reformulation, and operations projects, keeping timelines, owners, statuses, and dependencies current.
  • Coordinate PKO calendar invites and cross-functional milestone meetings, capturing and following up on action items.
  • Identify and escalate timeline risks early, such as testing delays, late freight, or component shortages.
  • Open and track design job requests in Monday.com for the creative team.
  • Own the Fill & Assembly (F&A) quoting process with key vendors, including fill weight verification requests.
  • Order competitive product and packaging samples for benchmarking.
  • Assist with BOM-related documentation, including NCR (Non-Conformance Report) documentation and F&A specification sheet upkeep as volume requires.
  • Organize and file documentation in the appropriate SharePoint folders to keep records clean, current, and audit-ready.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, or product development support, with beauty/CPG strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience working with a 3PL or warehouse partner and coordinating freight (LTL, FTL, and parcel).
  • Working proficiency in Monday.com (or similar), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office (including Excel).
  • Strong written communication for vendor-, carrier-, and partner-facing correspondence.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadline-driven workstreams with strong organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail, particularly for inventory records, shipping documents, and test files that function as the source of truth.

Technology

  • Monday.com, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Excel, NetSuite

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or another ERP/inventory management system.
  • Experience with retailer routing guides, vendor compliance requirements, and EDI/ASN processes.
  • Experience supporting a contract manufacturer or co-pack relationship.
  • Exposure to cosmetic safety or stability testing workflows.

Location: Los Angeles, CA (onsite). Salary: USD 100,000 per year. Experience: 1 years.
