Product Owner
Job Description
Pennymac is seeking a Product Owner to lead complex, multi-system initiatives and partner with system developers and business SMEs on application changes through delivery and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Lead organizational analysis to identify current capabilities, improvement opportunities, and measurement needs
- Drive prioritization and implementation of identified improvement opportunities
- Review and approve business analysis deliverables, including requirements and current and future state processes/workflows
- Assess and validate report specifications and related documentation
- Coordinate with system developers and business subject matter experts on application changes, development, and deployment
- Write, communicate, and vet requirements and user stories with business leaders using approaches such as use cases, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, and state charts
- Use supporting artifacts like data dictionaries and class or entity relationship diagrams to support clear understanding by business leaders/executives
- Operate effectively within Scrum or Kanban teams and participate in Scrum ceremonies and retrospectives
- Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and cost-saving approaches while maintaining project documentation
- Create regular reports for department and executive leadership
- Plan, develop, oversee, execute, and certify changes by establishing rigorous test plans across design and implementation phases
- Track test results to confirm changes are complete and aligned to finalized requirements
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 10+ years of Agile experience
- Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence (or similar tools) required
- Data Management experience and database knowledge preferred
- Financial Services experience, and mortgage industry experience if possible, preferred
- SQL Server/.NET, XML/EDI, AI, or BI tools experience is a plus

Compensation
- Salary: $75,000 - $130,000 per year
