Product Owner
Job Description
The Product Owner partners with the Scrum Master to guide product vision and agile execution for Nitro, aligning delivery with stakeholder, sponsor, and user needs.
Responsibilities
- Own the complete product lifecycle, from strategic planning and ideation through implementation and launch
- Develop and execute plans to improve existing products and introduce new products to drive additional revenue and/or operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with stakeholders and the scrum team to create use cases, define requirements, and prioritize software features
- Maintain a well-defined backlog of epics and stories, coordinating with executive leadership and department heads to implement approved products
- Translate business requirements into epics and stories for development teams
- Lead backlog grooming sessions to prioritize stories and epics, including features plus architectural and non-functional requirements
- Track and execute product roadmaps, development schedules, and product or component designs
- Represent business stakeholders on the scrum team
- Partner with UX teams to ensure product design supports business workflow and Nitro development standards
- Monitor the competitive landscape, identify significant changes, and analyze their impact
- Manage the overall project plan to support product release timelines
- Gather user feedback and integrate it into the design and development cycle
- Plan, develop, and coordinate ongoing in-house product training programs for multiple audiences
- Conduct special topic training to support business needs and related support projects when required
- Build a deep understanding of goals, priorities, competitive differentiators, customer needs, and industry trends to identify software feature opportunities
- Provide weekly status updates on assigned products
- Confirm the suitability of newly developed features by testing across all environments
Requirements
- Knowledge, talent, and technology experience demonstrating leadership capability
- Excellent coaching personality with strong communication and presentation skills
- 4+ years of experience in a medium or large scale enterprise environment
- Experience working with C-level executives and business leaders
- Experience working with Agile principles, using a prioritized, pragmatic approach to deliver the correct product on time
- Experience working with both remote and local development teams (plus)
