Senior Manager, Data Analysis - Network Platforms and Product Operations
Job Description
Capital One is hiring a Senior Manager, Data Analysis for the Discover Global Payment Network Platform Operations Tower in New York, NY. In this onsite role, you will turn high-volume transactional data streams into analytical assets that support network platforms, value-added services, and servicing portals.
Responsibilities
- Refine analytical assets and the core monitoring framework across the Network Platforms and Products (NPP) tower.
- Plan and deliver data architecture initiatives and automated platform monitoring projects.
- Evaluate the quality, scalability, and performance of real-time transactional data logs, including authentication, settlement, and portal logs, and determine how those logs are used across product domains.
- Analyze complex technical gaps in network data and proactively assess data-driven risks, anomalies, and operational optimization opportunities.
- Present technical results and data trends clearly through operational reporting, dashboards, and executive presentations, using both verbal and written communications.
- Collaborate with the Central Global Analytics team to align NPP data assets with enterprise data strategy, cloud infrastructure, and global governance requirements.
- Coach and mentor technical staff, establishing high engineering standards for data utilization within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of data analytics experience, or a Master’s degree plus at least 5 years of data analytics experience, with the expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.
- At least 5 years of experience performing professional data analysis.
- At least 5 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience managing people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience working with high-volume, semi-structured transactional and application log data.
- At least 5 years of experience manipulating, optimizing, and performing analysis with massive, enterprise-scale datasets.
- At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- At least 5 years of experience developing statistical or econometric models.
- At least 5 years of experience validating statistical or econometric models.
- At least 2 years of experience with data governance.
- At least 2 years of experience with predictive analytics, time-series forecasting, or implementing AI/ML tools in production environments.
Compensation and Location
- Location: New York, NY (onsite)
- Salary: USD 219,000 - 249,900 per year
