As a Senior Principal, Digital Product Design, you will steer end-to-end design initiatives across Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club, shaping strategy, mentoring designers, and collaborating across product, engineering, research, and leadership to deliver cutting-edge digital fitness experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of athlete motivations and the digital fitness landscape, translating insights into differentiated experience concepts.
  • Rapidly visualize, prototype, and explore multiple design directions in response to hypotheses, weighing business and technical considerations.
  • Own large, end-to-end initiatives that cross teams and outcomes in emerging product areas or disciplines.
  • Partner with a cross-functional team of product managers, program managers, engineers, researchers, producers, and fellow designers, representing work and storytelling solutions to executives.
  • Define a full category of experiences, proposing solutions aligned with business objectives and using design methods to uncover new opportunities.
  • Elevate digital design within Nike and foster dialogue between our organization and the broader external design community.
  • Inspire and mentor other designers, raising the bar through your work and your team's output.
  • Drive industry-wide thought leadership for high-visibility projects and strategic initiatives in scale or innovation.
  • Ensure cross-functional support for executions by prioritizing goals and guiding strategic approaches to the market or industry.
  • Lead multiple teams to solve challenges once thought insurmountable while mentoring senior talent.
  • Influence team culture to be more inclusive, welcoming, and candid by leading Nike Digital Design initiatives across orgs and company-wide.

Requirements

  • You are a strong generative and visionary designer with exceptional interaction design skills.
  • You lead large, complex projects and push the organization to pursue opportunities with positive business impact.
  • You partner with senior leaders across the company to articulate a vision for a product and guide the design from concept to realization.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the design industry.
  • Proven experience delivering consumer-facing product experiences that improve onboarding, habit formation, personalization, motivation, community, content discovery, or activity tracking.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with refined business acumen, with executives seeking your guidance on the future of digital product design.
  • Strategic thinker who connects business goals with consumer needs to craft the best experience.
  • Recognized as world class by peers for your track record and understanding of data science, experimentation, product, brand, business, and strategy.
  • Hands-on creative with expertise in information architecture, interaction design, and UI design.
  • Collaborative communicator who builds trust with cross-functional partners.
  • Comfortable working with both abstract information and detailed consumer research and data.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Cursor.
  • Ownership mindset with accountability, leading complex projects and driving innovation that creates new user value.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills to influence stakeholders and guide feedback.
  • Meticulous attention to visual detail, craft, and balanced layouts through typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Independent worker who also collaborates effectively, seeking support for resource allocation when needed.
  • Experience with digital fitness, wellness, coaching, activity tracking, wearable integrations, training plans, guided content, challenges, achievements, or community-based motivation features.
  • Familiarity with Nike Run Club, Nike Training Club, or similar consumer fitness products that combine coaching, content, community, personalization, and progress tracking to support athlete goals.
