Job Description

Lead the end-to-end development of Feit Electric fixture categories, collaborating with business units, engineering, operations, and retail buyers to shape category strategies and drive performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle for assigned fixture categories, from concept through launch, ongoing optimization, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Build and maintain product roadmaps aligned with channel strategies across Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Menards, Costco, ACE Hardware, and independent hardware retailers.
  • Define SKU architecture, tiering, and a Good/Better/Best framework across product lines.
  • Identify assortment gaps and growth opportunities via competitive market analysis and regular channel reviews.
  • Rationalize SKUs and manage end-of-life transitions to preserve a profitable portfolio.
  • Prepare and present line reviews, business reviews, and new item sell-in presentations to retail buyers and internal leadership.
  • Lead packaging development, planogram strategy, and in-store presentation standards across DIY, mass merchant, membership clubs, and hardware channels.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team weekly to ensure alignment on product positioning, pipeline status, and go-to-market timing.
  • Own product P&L for the categories, including margin analysis on new items, cost-down initiatives, and ongoing profitability tracking.
  • Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans by channel in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Monitor category performance against KPIs and adjust actions based on data to hit targets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between overseas factories and internal teams throughout product development and production.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure UL/ETL certification, regulatory compliance, and safety requirements for all fixture SKUs.
  • Maintain regular communication with Engineering to keep active projects on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee sampling, test specimens, and packaging development milestones.
  • Review and approve packaging copy and instruction sheets prior to production.
  • Conduct periodic store visits to observe product placement and gather competitive insights.
  • Perform online research on competitors, technology trends, import data, customer reviews, and service feedback.
  • Analyze call logs and online reviews to identify recurring pain points and propose product improvements.
  • Engage with end users to validate unmet needs and concept directions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of product management experience with a track record in lighting, consumer electronics, home improvement, or equivalent hardware categories.
  • Familiarity with light fixture product categories is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience managing products through major home improvement and mass retail channels (Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Costco, Menards, etc.).
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership, pricing strategy, and margin management skills.
  • Strong market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to commute to Pico Rivera, CA 90660 (Required).

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $150,000 – $170,000 per year.
  • Final compensation determined by qualifications, experience, and market conditions; discretionary year-end bonus eligible.

Additional Details

  • Onsite role Monday through Friday at either the Chicago, IL or Los Angeles, CA offices.
  • Occasional domestic travel for customer meetings and store visits.
