Job Description

Scribd, Inc. is hiring a Senior Product Manager to shape high-impact consumer experiences across Everand and Fable.

Responsibilities

  • Own strategy, vision, and product roadmap for the squad, spanning Everand and Fable.
  • Lead a cross-functional squad in partnership with engineering, design, research, and data to deliver roadmap initiatives.
  • Drive investment decisions that combine major bets with continuous experimentation to improve key engagement metrics.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative inputs from cross-functional partners to guide product choices.
  • Work closely with data science and engineering on recommendation, ranking, and search systems, including product tradeoffs related to relevance and quality.
  • Design end-to-end experiences that merge joyful design, editorial insight, and algorithmic intelligence to help readers discover their next book.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience on consumer products at scale.
  • Experience with native mobile apps and subscriptions is a plus.
  • Proven ability to turn major pain points into product strategy and define an opinionated roadmap for your area.
  • Fluency partnering with engineers and data scientists on experiences using Machine Learning (recommendations, search, ranking systems).
  • Strong capability across quantitative research (for example, A/B testing and data analytics) and qualitative research (for example, user testing and interviews).
  • Sharp product sense with an eye for consumer experiences that feel effortless and delightful.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication, with clear writing and crisp prioritization.
  • Passion for books and reading.

  • Location for this role: Los Angeles, CA (onsite).

Compensation

  • Base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range.
  • In California, the reasonably expected salary range is $142,000 to $221,500 per year.
  • In the United States outside of California, the reasonably expected salary range is $117,000 to $210,500 per year.
  • In Canada, the reasonably expected salary range is $149,000 CAD to $197,000 CAD.
  • This position is also eligible for competitive equity ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Salary range is for the level at which this job has been scoped; a different level may apply a higher or lower pay range.
