Senior Product Manager, Payments Platform
Job Description
Lead product strategy and delivery for a developer-first payments platform that improves integration outcomes and reduces friction across APIs, tools, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Turn customer needs, business goals, and technical opportunities into a prioritized roadmap for payment APIs, developer tools, and integration experiences.
- Lower friction from discovery and evaluation through sandbox testing, integration, launch, and ongoing usage.
- Shape API design and usability across SDKs, embedded payment modules, webhooks and events, developer documentation, integration guides, testing tools, and sandbox experiences.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and architecture teams on API standards, authentication, access management, event-driven patterns, and consistent integration practices across products.
- Define problems and requirements, clarify dependencies, make trade-offs, and keep work moving across engineering, architecture, implementation, UX, and documentation.
- Engage with customers, developers, ISV engineering teams, implementation partners, and solution architects to understand integration challenges and validate priorities.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure APIs, specifications, examples, collections, and guides are accurate, usable, and aligned to the product experience.
- Define and track measures such as integration time, time to first successful API call, developer adoption, onboarding completion, and recurring integration friction.
- Maintain stakeholder alignment on roadmap decisions, trade-offs, progress, risks, and launch readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in product management in fintech, SaaS platforms, or developer-facing products.
- Experience building or managing API-driven platforms or developer ecosystems.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of integration architecture, APIs, SDKs, and event-driven systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in payments, fintech infrastructure, or a related regulated technology domain.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled developer tools, agentic workflows, and MCP, including evaluating how they can improve API discovery, integration, and developer self-service.
- Familiarity with payment concepts such as authorization, capture, settlement, tokenization, vaulting, and recurring payments.
- Experience partnering with software vendors, ISVs, SaaS providers, or other technology partners.
- Experience with developer portals, OpenAPI specifications, API testing tools, webhooks, and sandbox environments.
- Experience consolidating products, APIs, or integration experiences across multiple platforms or teams.
- Demonstrated success leading API-driven, developer-facing, SaaS, or fintech products from strategy through delivery.
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and communication skills, with a track record of using customer insight and product data to guide decisions.
- Ability to lead across teams and influence without direct authority.
