Sr. Director, Global Content & Product Operations
Job Description
iHerb is seeking a highly strategic, technology-forward Senior Director to lead and modernize the operational systems that power global digital content production for its e-commerce business.
Role Overview
This position oversees global workflows for high-volume content and product data operations, translating commercial strategies with the Revenue Office into measurable, automated execution. The role partners across Product and Technology teams to improve integrations between operational platforms and to advance AI-assisted, human-in-the-loop operating models.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and scale day-to-day operations for Content Operations, Product Content Onboarding, and Translation/Localization.
- Map and re-engineer end-to-end workflows to remove bottlenecks, establish clear SLAs, and reduce the time required to publish product content and listings globally.
- Build and maintain data-driven dashboards to monitor operational KPIs, including queue velocity, publishing accuracy, team capacity, and unit cost per asset.
- Identify, pilot, and deploy AI-enabled workflows and automated tools to modernize production, including the use of LLMs for product copy generation, automated translation memory, and intelligent asset tagging.
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to optimize and integrate CMS, PIM, and TMS capabilities.
- Define and execute a roadmap for next-generation, AI-assisted human-in-the-loop operational models to maximize team productivity.
- Establish scalable operating rhythms and prioritization frameworks to manage incoming content and listing requests from Merchandising, Marketing, and other relevant teams.
- Serve as the central operational bridge between business objectives and technical product or engineering roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading high-volume digital production pipelines, including content publishing, product catalog onboarding, and translation bureau-style operations.
- Hands-on experience evaluating, testing, and deploying AI-enabled tools, automation, or machine-translation pipelines in production environments.
- A demonstrated history of transforming manual, human-dependent workflows into streamlined, tool-driven, highly measurable processes.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering or optimizing enterprise CMS, PIM, or Translation Management (TMS) platforms.
- Certifications or extensive practical experience in process improvement, including Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
Experience and Education
- Experience: Generally requires 12+ years in Business Operations, Commercial Operations, E-commerce Operations, Operational Strategy, or related fields.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Technology, Engineering, or related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Additional education-related strengths include certifications or demonstrated experience in process improvement, operational transformation, AI/automation, or workflow optimization.
Judgment and Reasoning
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly using strong judgment, poise, and diplomacy, including determining when escalation is needed in a timely manner.
Compensation
- Expected salary range: $260,000.00 to $285,000.00 USD per year.
- Final base pay is determined by relevant experience, education, geographic location, and internal equity.
Work Location and Environment
California (remote). The remote work environment is characterized by minimal noise levels and a fast-paced rhythm with fewer interruptions than a typical office setting. The role uses remote communication tools such as video conferencing, chat platforms, and project management software, with flexibility to accommodate extended work hours as needed.
